The thing I truly did not like was how the story jumped between two story lines, Dr. Westlake, and her life, and Charles Hamish, and his fight with A.L.S..
I really liked the friendship between Charles, and his friends, David, and Pam Bachman. I especially liked Pam's character.
I liked trying to figure out Drew Langdon, but I was very disappointed with how the author chose to end the part with Drew.
I didn't care for how the author dealt with Dr. Johnson at the end of the book.
Additionally, because the main character suffers from ALS, and its release happened to coincide with the ALS ice bucket challenge, Mercy Killer has a strong message of hope for those who are facing ALS, as well as other terminal or chronic illnesses.
I heartily recommend this book. You will be glad you took the time to read it.
