About Meredith Curtis
Meredith Curtis, pastor’s wife and homeschooling mom of five amazing children, lives to be a world changer and raise world changers! She loves Jesus, leads worship, homeschools, writes, mentors ladies, and sometimes even cooks dinner!
After graduating from the University of Delaware in 1984 with a BS degree in Nursing, she worked as a RN for two years until the birth of her first child in 1986. Since then, she has enjoyed the delightful life of a homemaker. As she watched the neighborhood children leave on the big yellow school bus each morning, she decided she wanted her children to spend the day with her, rather than in traditional school. In 1991, Meredith started homeschooling and found her niche. She has enjoyed every season of learning right along with her children. When it’s time for high school she designs her children’s high school curriculum and helps other moms do the same thing.
Believing that all of life is a grand adventure with so much to learn and discover, she loves teaching her own children and those in her homeschool co-op. She is the author of Joyful and Successful Homeschooling, Economics, Finances & Business Course, Unlocking the Mysteries of Homeschooling High School, Quick & EZ Unit Study Fun, God’s Girls Beauty Secrets, American Literature & Research, Let’s Have Our Own Medieval Banquet, Maggie King Mystery series, and MORE!
Meredith wants to encourage homeschooling families to be joyful and successful in their homeschool journey, all the way to high school graduation.

Blog postGod has a unique way of bringing beauty from ashes. When the horrid COVID lockdown hit Florida in 2020, like many churches, we were forced to livestream our services. One major difficulty we immediately discovered was that the children were becoming disengaged and pulling sweet mom and dad from the service (aka their laptops).

Blog postPlease Enter Our Giveaway at the end of this post! I remember rocking my oldest daughter Katie Beth in the middle of the night in a small apartment in Phoenix. She had fallen asleep in my arms and as I gazed at her face, I felt overwhelmed with the responsibility of motherhood.
Could I do it? Would I fail?
Would we be friends when she grew up?
Sitting there in that dark room, I thought of four things I desperately wanted to be successful at in her life as her mother.6 days ago Read more -

Blog postMy husband had to represent his company at a trade show and he invited me along. He had a few hours each afternoon for sightseeing and at the top of his wish list for the trip was a visit to the 911 Memorial and the World Trade Center. I was eager to go with him.
This was an important visit for him and he didn’t want to get lost, so he asked the concierge at his Times Square hotel for directions on how to catch the subway to the memorial. He read that this was the most cost-effec1 week ago Read more -
Blog postGrowing up in western-central North Carolina was a bit like growing up in a black and white tv show at times. It was a slower pace, a simpler way of life, and we had Andy Griffith right up the road! I’ve since moved away but had a chance to take the kids back there one time during our six years of roadschooling.
We travelled all over the United States – you should totally do it, if you ever get the chance!

Blog postI was born and raised in the state of Illinois, but since leaving home I have traveled the country and lived in two other states for extended periods of time. Overall, I’ve come to appreciate my home state of Illinois more and more over the years. It’s easy to think of Chicago when you hear about Illinois, but I have always lived in “the rest of the state”, as I like to say, and it has so much to offer. My hometown is big enough to have many great cultural opportunities thanks to2 weeks ago Read more

Blog postOur family lived in Maine for two and a half years in a small town that was about halfway between Augusta, the capital, and Portland, the largest city in Maine. All three of these cities are in the southern half of the state.
The state of Maine is known for its cool weather. Where we lived the average temperature in the winter was below freezing and in the summer was in the 60s.

Blog postLike many midwestern states, Ohio is a checkerboard of corn and wheat fields but with a surprisingly varied number of educational experiences awaiting homeschooling families. Whether digging for agates at Lake Erie to the north or exploring caves in its rolling hills to the south, there is much to appreciate about this state who birthed 13 U.S. Presidents, and nowhere better to begin than in my hometown of Dayton, a town built at the Crossroads of America, also known as the Birthplace of Avia3 weeks ago Read more

Blog postDisclosure: I received this complimentary product through the Homeschool Review Crew.
I’m always excited to review homeschool resources from Home School in the Woods. Activity Pak: The New Testament is an amazing resource to supplement Bible study and Ancient History courses. We used it to spend some fun, but Bible-centered time with our grandkids.
