Product Description

This is no ordinary game. By playing Creatures, you will be taking part in one of the largest Artificial Life experiments ever. Raise and train a troupe of cuddly virtual life creatures that live on the Capillata space ship and help them reach the level of advancement sufficient to fly it. This task is not easy, Norns are eager to learn but because they own individual personalities they may not always do what you want them to (or even what you expect!). Like a good parent you must be patient, teach them new things using many tools available and raise them the best you can so that after some time you could be proud of how much they have managed to achieve.

The reviewers giving poor ratings are blaming their own computer issues on the software. I purchased this a few weeks ago, both programs work just fine on my windows 7 laptop. Additionally, there is still an active community of players sharing information, creatures and agents, and creating amazing third party content. The site that used to give passwords for Docking Station is long gone but the other players helped me find an add-on that allows offline play without the password. Don't listen to the low reviews, they obviously didn't even try to find a solution. This game IS NOT a "waste of money."

I was super psyched when I found out this game was up for download because I had lost my physical copies of it. However the installation file is missing a couple of key pathway files so I was unable to run the game. I downloaded this onto the same computer that I had previously had the older games on, so I know for a fact that it is not because I'm trying to run it on a newer operating system. A nice thought. Ended up buying it on a different website and it ran just fine.

How to install on win 7

I have win 7 64, and I got the game to run by left clicking on the "setup" icon (in the folder you downloaded from Amazon) and clicking on "properties", in the properties window, open the compatibility tab (at the top) select the box "run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select "Windows XP (service pack 3)", then check the box that says "Run this program as administrator" click "Apply" to save these settings, and voila, it worked; I was able to click on it the "setup" icon, and it opened the installer, and the game installed and worked just fine after that...only took a few hours of effort, lol! Good luck.

Docking station and Creatures 3 both fail to open. It doesn't have any way to launch the programs, and Docking Station is exactly the same program you can download for free online- aka it has the same problems that prevent it from launching as well. Don't bother. Waste of money.
