Mergers & Acquisitions: The Human Side: A Manager's Guide to Success by George Zelina tackles the often confusing and chaotic world of mergers and acquisitions in business. From a managerial standpoint, Zelina proposes that it is up to the manager to act as an effective role model to guide his or her team to success. There is a level of great uncertainty with most mergers, and the employees feel this scenario acutely. Will they still have a job? Will the company as they know it still exist? Zelina addresses these concerns by looking at two groups, the employees of the company being bought, and the company that is doing the takeover or buying of a company. Namely there are three significant anxieties that will arise for all employees: Stress and all of it's ramifications, Job Loss and the culture clash, and finally, Competition within the organization itself. Well written, this book offers great support for all managers going through a difficult transitional period during a merger or acquisition.

This is a great guide through the straits of a merger or acquisition. The road can be filled with hidden dangers and this book has some great strategies to guide the process. A great manger will be able to lead the team and guide the ship through the rough waters and into open sea. Manager's with the ability to lead people, set goals, and make decisions is important to the success of any business. This book is a great guide to help achieve those goals. Would reccomed to any manager who is looking to improve knowledge and skills.

Mergers & Acquisitions The human Side: A Manager’s Guide to Success serves not just as a guide to help you manage your way through a merger, it also provides valuable advice and examples of previous mergers to give you a better idea of what to do and what not to do.

It even gives you help for how to deal with employees who may react negatively to the merger and how to avoid some of the stress that comes along with this task. TIps about dealing with the other company are also included. A very well written guide to help get you through this time.

Are you in the field of mergers’ and acquisitions’? Than this book by Mr. Zelina was written for you!

He does not hide the truth from you: he speaks out, that you will face challenges on this field – eg. competition, job loss, stress, etc… He even brings you examples from real life to prove that. He gives you his advices about how honest you should be, how you should handle your team-members, how you can deal with your negative employees and how you can bring your teams closer to eachother. The book speaks about the way to the cultural success also, like about process changes. You can even read about how you can harness the dissents, if you read this book. At the end you will find his advices about how to build and maintain momentum, and – in order to encourage you – you will find some positive examples of the history of M&A in the book.

So: if you want to be successful on your field of M&A, go and get a copy of this book, read it and make it real!
