I was wondering who Sophie will pick at the end, I didn't know who to root for because the author was giving hints for either woman.
A must read, you can't go wrong with a book from Radley, your money is worth every penny you paid for the book.
This is the first book of Ms. Radley’s that I have had the pleasure to read. I found the complexity of the characters intriguing. They were well thought out and defined. It is impossible for me to choose and favourite character, they are all loveable. I really liked watching Sophie grow in her personal and professional lives. I couldn’t help but to picture TVs Supergirl’s alter ego Kara in the role of Sophie, it made the book even more real to me. Georgina and Kate are also really great characters. The way they interact with each other is a mix of funny and frustrating. It sure took them long enough to get their act together but it is so worth the wait…
This is a very good book and I can’t wait to read more from this author!
In this books different type of woman clash together. We have the two very successful advertising company heads Kate from Red Door and Georgina from Mastery, what happens when they fight for the same job? It all starts with a request by the very ambitious but sometimes little naive Yannis who wants to promote some luxury cars – who spends already lots of money with Kates company but wants to extend to get the best possible in Europe and America. He starts the little “war” between both of our Ladies who try to be better and oust the competition and win over Yannis for themselves.
Than its time to make the chaos complete and bring in another woman, here we have former intern Sophie who is now on the one hand Kates assistant but also kind of a spy on Georgina. If you mix in some romantic feelings than it gets crazy, but the good kind of crazy. I went tru different emotions there were moments I routed for Kate and others I was totally for Georgina.
The story is a perfect combination of fun, love and amazingly well written. Lots of people probably can relate to Sophie having feelings that haven’t been there before, on top of this for very successful woman are hard for everyone.
I couldn’t put the book down because I wanted to know how it is going on, it cost me a night but it was so worth it. Im very exited to see whats next for A. R. Radley.
Mergers and Acquisitions by A.E. Radley takes us into the cutthroat world of advertising. This book is filled with tension, rivalry, unexpected friendships and of course, romance.
The book starts off introducing the reader to Red Door a UK marketing firm owned by Kate Kennedy. This business is Kate’s life. She pours her heart and soul into keeping Red Door as the top advertising agency in Europe. Along the way, she has made some enemies, but not bigger and thornier than Georgina Masters, her American rival. As one of their mutual clients, Yannis Papadakis, the CEO of an engine manufacturing company, wants the two companies to collaborate on the marketing campaign for his latest creation, a supercar. Georgina and Kate can barely stand to be in the same room together, much less work intimately on a campaign of this magnitude.
Now add in the unexpected factor, an adorable, preppy nerd named Sophie Young. Sophie has just accepted a new position at Red Door after completing her internship. A gopher, running errands and fixing the copy machine is not exactly what she planned on, but she’s at Red Door and that’s what counts. All of the sudden, as Kate’s assistant, is injured and out of commission for a while, Sophie is now the right hand to her marketing idol, Kate.
This book is fun, witty and adorable. I had no idea which way this book was going to take me, and I loved it. Each character is interesting and loveable in their own right. You don’t want to miss this one, heck if you have read any of A.E. Radley’s books you know it’s quality stuff.
