Editorial Reviews

Review

"'Endless White Houses' is easily my favorite song of the year." -- Owen Otto, Section M Magazine

"Will Johnson's gorgeously plaintive, strong yet poetically raspy voice, can tremolo and twist on a dime." -- San Francisco Bay Guardian, 2000

"Wonderfully hooky choruses and soul-searching lyrics...more substance than most mainstream sensative-fella bands." -- Listen.com, 2000

I've had this album for about 3 years, and I still listen to it almost everyday. These 6 songs are the most beautiful things I have heard in a long time. Will Johnson has an amazing voice, and his lyrics continue to haunt me even though I have long since committed every one of these perfectly arranged words to memory. It's not often that you get such a great combination of appealing sound with lyrics that are so intelligent, introspective, and emotional. My only complaint is that they don't have another CD.

This album has a special meaning for me...I wish they would produce more music! Just take a listen and the lyrics will suck you in...The music is moving and powerful. Full of emotion. Where is their next album?

Over a year ago, I found out about this band on an MP3.com search. After downloading a couple songs, I fell in love with the sound. Will Johnson's (lead singer) lyrics are totally captivating. The melodies and the words of all the songs stick into your head instantly. "Endless White Houses" and "Sad Eyes" are two amazing songs with powerful music and genius lyrics. If you like Counting Crows you will love Meriwether. Will's lyrics are just as powerful as Adam's. Over the past year, I think I have listened to this CD more than any other, and it never once has gotten old.
