These are not barefoot shoes!!

I'm not sure what other people's standards for barefoot are, but these are absolutely NOT barefoot. They're nice shoes, and decidedly better than "regular" shoes but my whole family has many types of barefoot shoes and these are stiff and thick by comparison-- even compared to normal toddler striderites they're bricks. There's some toe flexibility but none down the midline and they definitely can't roll up. Please don't market these as barefoot shoes... that's incorrect. Otherwise they're nice looking and fit fine. I'll probably still use them for certain kinds of outings but I feel misled.

Fit was good and they were easy to get on and off of my wide footed child! The issue is there is no rubber or anything over the toe so after wearing them the first time to a park for just a couple hours the toes are all scuffed and I am afraid the material is eventually going to tear.

Very nice shoes. I decided to return because they were too big. They seem to run bigger than other brands like See Kai Run and Stride Rite (on the photo I compared sizes 4 of these shoes and See Kai Run). I will repurchase them in the future, and I hope by then I will figure out if my daughter needs M or W width.

Bought these on sale for my 5 year old and liked them enough to keep the next size up as well. At the sale price they are a great cost-effective option for a minimalist shoe... sole has decent flex and the toe box is a good width and shape- I ordered both medium and wide width and found the wide width was not necessary for my kid (whose foot is only slightly on the wide side). I will buy the high top style as well if I catch them on sale. Sad that they stop at toddler sizes, wish they came bigger. We’ve only been using them for a few weeks but so far durability is great, much better than the Bare Access which are available for bigger kids. Make these in bigger sizes please Merrell!

These shoes are the best! My daughter has has them for about 9 months and wears them almost every day, as they are her favorite. I agree with the other reviews about these running big. These shoes are so light and flexible that they really move with her foot. So many toddler shoes have thick, stiff soles that make it so hard for walking. She does not trip in these shoes like she does in some of the more “traditional” shoes. These are also very durable. She has been ROUGH on these, even throwing one in the toilet, so I had to wash it! I washed both and condition with mink oil after and they were good as new! I also love that I can get these in wide. I have recently ordered the bare steps sandals for her and they are also great. They have the exact same sole as these shoes. Will definitely be buying these again in the next size up when she grows out of her current pair!
I bought her the 5W, I would say it is comparable to a 6-6.5 in other brands.

My girl LOVES these shoes. I got them for her when she first started walking, and they were perfect because they have great traction. She doesn’t slip like she would in a lot of her other shoes. She even runs up and gives them to me to let me know she’s ready to go outside. I got her the size 4 when she was 11 months old. They were a little big, but the Velcro strap holds them in place, so they still stayed on fine. She’s now 14 months; she still loves them and wears them everywhere.

These are great shoes for my new walker. I got the size 4 and they fit a little big in comparison to the other 4 we had but we just waited a bit and she grew into them. The toe box is wider then say the stride rites we had but I think she enjoys it since her toes aren’t as cramped. The width is normal in comparison to the stride rites as well. Already bought a size 5 that she is wearing now and they fit just as good as the 4s. Will be looking for some in 6 soon, might go with something with more arch support since these are fairly flat (mimicking her nature foot at the moment)

These shoes have stood up very well to a lot of abuse. Very easily cleaned and dry out pretty quickly when they inevitably get soaked in a mud puddle. My one issue is with the soles - I find them a litte less flexible than what I would expect in a minimalist shoe. Still better than most shoes I have been able to find. The zero drop sole, no arch support, and wide toe box make it a pretty decent shoe for developing feet.
