===========================================================:
I ordered my second pair and have just begun wearing them. The new pair so far seems good. However I made the mistake of ordering Gunsmoke Grey instead of the color of my first pair, Dark Earth. I HATE the Gunsmoke Grey color, which is just different enough from the appearance on the web page for me to hate. I've been struggling with whether to exchange them. I don't really want to return them, because the sale is over and I'll probably have to pay full price for a different color replacement, but I just do not like this color.
Otherwise, however, the new Jungle Mocs are fine. They are comfortable, and they don't have the squeaking problem that my first pair had until I fixed it (see my original review below for details).
My first pair was becoming a very loose fit over time, not at all snug like they are new, but not too loose to wear. My plan when I ordered the new pair was to continue to wear the old pair as my daily at home shoe, and only wear the new pair for work.
The first pair, which was Dark Earth, is discolored after nearly two years of daily wear, but not as bad as I feared they'd be after two years. But I do mostly computer work and meeting with people. If I did a different type of work, the shoes could look a lot worse by now. My new pair is Gunsmoke Grey, which I don't care for and regret ordering.
I don't use them for hiking or other trail use - I prefer running shoes or hiking boots for that - so I have no opinion about how they hold up off pavement.
Overall these are excellent shoes.
First Updated Review:
After 16 months of daily wear, I'm still happy with these shoes, though I'm a little disappointed that they seem to be stretching, making the shoes feel looser. My big concern after buying them was the squeaking in one of the shoes, but the trick I described in my original review (below) did the trick. The shoe has never again squeaked. I still recommend these shoes.

============
The shoes have been fine since I found out how to stop them from squeaking. This is a problem many Merrell owners complain about. For me, only my right shoe squeaked. The left shoe has never squeaked. The right shoe squeak was barely audible at first, but after three weeks, it was becoming loud enough that I knew I could not live with it. I was ready to return them to Amazon, but fortunately I did some research first that allowed me to solve the problem. I've now owned the shoes two months and am completely satisfied.
The way I solved the problem was to place two dryer sheets (fabric softener sheet) under the insole of the squeaking shoe. I was skeptical that it would work, but the squeaking stopped immediately and five weeks later, there's still no squeaking. I've read that another solution is to sprinkle some talcum powder under the insole.
I bought the traditional round-lug Moc rather than the Vibram sole. If I used the shoe for hiking, I'd have gotten the Vibram sole, but I prefer a lace-up shoe for rugged terrain. I wear these as my everyday shoe. They're perfect for that. When I'm on the trail, I use hiking boots or running shoes.
I bought the Jungle Mocs to replace a pair of imitation Jungle Mocs (Hathaway Comfort Mocassins) that I wore for six years and that held up well, but were never comfortable. The Merrells are a huge improvement in comfort over the imitations. I hope they hold up as well as the imitation mocs I was wearing before.
I considered docking a star for the squeaking, but it was so easily solved that I decided to give the shoes a full five stars.

As a fell walker I’m a big fan of Merrell and Solomon walking boots, and generally live in my Merrell Moab Ventilator boots. These Jungle Mocs have the same fitting and comfy feel as those Moabs, but bridge the gap from outdoor boot to smarter day shoe. They’re rugged underneath, but stylish on the top, and I can pair them with my usual Craghopper Kiwi Classics or my work chino type trousers so I don’t look like I’ve just rolled off of Snowdon. Which I usually just have.
Update: I've had the brown coloured ones now for coming up to a year, and have just brought a pair in black also, such is my regard for how comfy and practical they are.

I like the slip on feature which is so much more practical than a lace up casual shoe/trainer and there are pull-on tabs on the heels. The interior of the shoe has a special anti-odour treatment which seems to last a long time plus you can change the insoles.
The outers don't need much cleaning as there's a rubber rim around the shoe. The heel is slightly higher than some but absorbs impact and makes the shoes great for walking in all but the roughest terrain. i have also found the shoes to be highly water resistant.
In summary, a good value pair of practical shoes which are well made and should last quite a while.

Exactly the “same” style - but it’s not.
The same size is looser and has lower cut around the ankle.
The insole is now shaped as high on the outside of the foot as it is on the arch.
Has the average anatomy of a human foot changed since I last bought a pair?
Do other people now have arches on the outside of their feet as well as the inside?
I bought a new pair because the previous shoe was five star but worn out.
This is advertised as the same model but that’s nonsense.
This shoe is now the worst fitting pair I own (out of over 100 pairs - and that includes 6 other pairs of Merrell).
I can’t give less than 1 star but these don’t deserve even that.
Merrell... your shoes used to comfortable and reliable but you’ve lost a customer.

I've only just received the shoes so will try them properly but I'm not so confident about them.
They are very slippy on a wet pavement/road/carpark they slip and slide easily. I wear these at work on hard floors which do get wet so I'm deeming them pretty useless for me. they are ok for comfort. Not sure if I will be able to return them now as I've worn them twice.

He is so so fussy where shoes are concerned and they have to be just right, even doing what the family call, a stretch test when trying them on. There is such drama when he gets a new pair of shoes!
So for him to say that they are great after wearing them for a few hours is not short of a miracle.
It usually takes him weeks to get used to shoes and I could write a novel about shoes he tries, because he is so fussy, he drives me crazy.
It also takes forever to drive in them, ( just in case) but today he got straight in the car and on arriving back he commented on how comfortable they are, so I punched the air! Finally I have scored 180 in my choice. Had I not got these he would still be in his scruffy Skechers which, when first bought were fine, but hes worn them to bits.
