EDIT: I am reducing my rating from a 5 to a 3 because after about 8 months the shoes started to fall apart. The dark piece of material above the sole on the front of the shoe cracked and separated from the sole in a number of places. Also, the middle part of the sole down by the heel wore thin and produced a hole. I have not had problems like this with other brands of shoes I have worn in the past under similar conditions. I would expect to get more than 8 months use out of these shoes. I just wore them to work (office setting) and never outside where they would be worn out prematurely. I still think they are comfortable and stylish, but the durability issue will prevent me from buying another pair or recommending them to anyone else.
The tongue and top edge are well-padded for comfort and the insoles are very cushioned for good shock absorbency. For those guys who depend upon steel-toed boots for work safety, these aren't up to the task. However, they are sufficiently heavy and durable enough for most other uses. Plus, they also look good with jeans just for casual wear.
These boots run a bit on the large size, so you may want to consider buying them a half-size smaller unless you typically wear heavy wool hiking boots with them.
I would recommend these shoes to anyone looking for a light hiking boot for travel and light camping. Another reason why I like them is because they can be worn in many situations, not only in the outdoors. As for the fit, I ordered the same size as most of my other shoes and boots and they fit perfectly.
The only issues I had with them was that my feet did end up getting a little cold when the temperatures dropped below 40F, but I blame myself for wearing thin socks.
If you are in the market, definitely consider picking up a pair.
