I've had these for three weeks and we've had more than 30 inches of snow since then and temps down to about -5 F. These are the first boots I've had in a while. I've been wearing insulated shoes the past few years, but was looking for something that would keep me warmer and drier but still look nice with slacks and button-down shirts. These are everything I had hoped.

I generally spend 1 1/2 hours outside everyday and the rest of the day in buildings that are at about 67 F. They fit true to size but I still wear a pair of thick socks underneath. They aren't quite as comfortable as the insulated shoes that I used to wear but much warmer and have better traction on ice. It took about two weeks to get them broken in.

Was looking for warm, dry boots that didn't take 5 minutes to put on or take off. Have owned other Merrell shoes and knew that some models are awesome, others have manufacturing issues.

Ordered a 1/2 size bigger per other reviews and the fit, as usual with Merrells was perfect. With heavy socks, they are a bit snug but not too much. Switch to regular socks and their not sloppy.

These boots are made very well, and keep your feet warm given you wear cold weather sock.
They also keep your feet dry, assuming your not wading in deep puddles.
the tread on these is "aggressive", which is good for traction, the down side is they hold a lot of slush and mud so keep that in mind when you come inside. i knew boots would do that, so i wanted easy on and off and these do the trick.

The leather is a little stiff, but has worn in very well in the last 2 weeks (5 days a week, 10 -12 hours a day of wear)

If you like the no frills look and need some all purpose shoes for winter, buy these. you will be happy.

These are truly great boots. They are waterproof, comfy (with the addition of some good insoles) and easy to get on and off. The traction on ice is good too. I've walked over 4 miles in one day in these boots and had no problems. What I did not like is that one day when I first got these I wore them with some socks that were lower than the top of the boot. The elastic on the outside side of the boot is very rigid and it wore an open wound on the side of my leg. Lesson learned and I have a scar to remind me to wear tall socks. Overall though I am satisfied and would give it 5 stars if not for the initial pain and misery!

I wear a size 12 - 12.5 depending on the cut or style of the shoe. I decided to roll the dice and order a size 12. For me, it was a true fit. These boots have kept my feet warm, dry, and the inner sole is surprisingly comfortable. The side zipper makes it easier to put on and take off the boots.

The only down side of the boots is that breaking them in was quite uncomfortable and, at times, painful for the mid shin/calf area. This was true of my previous Sorrel snow boots. When breaking in the boots be sure to wear extra thick socks or some sort of padding for the mid shin/calf area of your legs.

OK, I have multiple pair of heavey duty winter boots but wanted a stylish pair of mid slip ons to walk my lab inb the bitter cold on icy side walks. I have tried many of my bulky pairs and some worked well but were cumbersome and hard to get on and off.

I love Merrell as well as Ecco, Keen, etc but this have been great. I have worn them over a hundred times and they still look new. They have seen snow, ice, salt, etc and other than an occassional wet cloth (after salt) they look like teh day I bought them. I have worn them out with jeans and they look great,

    Now to the real review:

    PROs:
    - Fit, they fit perfect to size. I am a true 11.5 and these fit me perfectly.
    - The tread- Pattern and grip is better than any other I have used. I had fallen a few times with other footwear worn to walk the fog but these have excellent traction.
    - Warmth, Just right. Not overly worm but they do wick perspiration away from the foot. No problems with cold feet, even with sport socks and sub-zero temps. I walk my lab for about 45 mins to an hour three times a day and have not had cold feet.
    - Wear. They are simply like new after almost an entire winter of wear. Love them.

    CONs:
    - wish teh pul tab on back was a little larger to help pulling them on.

I look forward to wearing them again this winter

This boot could be waterproof in snow, but if you stepped into a deep puddle, I think you'll end up with a wet foot. The boot had zippers on the side which can't be waterproof, but I believe it is snow proof -just not waterproof.

I wore these in the snow for 1 weekend and by the end of the weekend they had already started leaking. I am done with Merrell. This is the second pair of boots I've had from them that do not live up to expectations. I guess you get what you pay for. If you want cheap boots that do not work as you expect them to - these are definitely for you. Otherwise I would spend an extra $50-100 and get a different brand that has a reputation for quality.
