MOAB VENTILATOR MID
Merrell believes that nothing should get in the way of enjoying active outdoor adventures. Merrell hiking boots, tail running shoes and apparel are built on Merrell’s outdoor heritage, quality and performance.
Lug patterns that provide stability in all conditions, with no lugs placed under the arch, so your foot flexes more naturally for greater comfort. Sure traction on both wet and dry surfaces in even the most extreme temperatures.
M Select FRESH
Long-lasting M Select Fresh prevents sweat and moisture from affecting the freshness of your shoes. Our antimicrobial agents penetrate and disrupt the reproduction of the odor causing microbes in your shoes.
This mid-hiker gives you traction in any summer situation. Waterproof uppers with mesh lining keep feet cool and dry over a cushy midsole.

I'm giving two stars until I hear back from Merrell or Amazon then will readjust my ratings.
I recently took these out for a field test in the harsh wet Oregon winter to see how they would manage in the absolute worse conditions I could face. How they perform? Not that bad actually. I had to be sure to jump over the puddles and streams though as these are not waterproof. The tread gripped very well on the wet ground and the snow covered train trestles I was walking on. I did step in an ankle high puddle at one point and the shoe got wet but thanks to superb breathability they did not retain the water and dried fast. After swapping out my socks it felt like it never happened.
These boots performed amiably in conditions they were clearly not designed for. These will not replace my all leather winter hiking shoes but I can proudly say that these Moabs are my footwear of choice for spring summer and fall. It’s no wonder why army Special Forces guys are ditching their clunky government issued boots and picking up a pair of these. FIVE STARS! :)
I put about 9 miles on them the first day I wore them and they didn't feel stiff at all and didn't seem to need any break-in time. Last weekend I hiked for 9 hours straight in them and didn't get a single blister, and my feet felt great for the first 7 hours. None of my previous hiking boots were this comfortable so soon after buying them.
So far I have been very happy with these, but I will update my review next month after we hike the Grand Canyon.
And the fabric lacing eyes on these dont seem to work as well as on my others. Pulling the laces tight, only seems to tighten the upper part of the shoe. They dont slide through the eyes well enough to tighten the whole shoe.
Hopefully these break in a little bit, otherwise they're going to be really annoying to wear.

Theses boots soles traction and wearing patterns are excellent. The fit sucks big time to narrow to wear thick socks.Read more
