I saw this randomly at the Merrell store in downtown SF. I had never bought Merrell clothing before. I was only familiar with their shoes. The jacket looked very nice when I tried it on in the store. I liked how the band around the waist makes it look more slimming. The smallest size the store had was S. It was still baggy on the waist, so I looked online and saw that it was made in XS, so I ended up buying online instead of the store. The Amazon sale on outerwear during the holidays was just an added bonus as I was able to get this for about $50 less than in the store.
There is soft fleece lining on the inside of the jacket, which makes it decently warm and very soft and comfy! I've been wearing it frequently this winter. The temps here range from the 30s - 50s. Definitely chilly if you're wearing this over a tank top in 30 degree weather, but you can easily layer a sweater under this which makes it decently warm even when the temperature dips near freezing.
Overall I am very pleased with this purchase. I will update if the jacket doesn't hold up over time.
I highly recommend it.
Will last for several seasons, probably a mid grade on temps. Wouldn't want to be out in it for hours, but also wouldn't wear it unless it was a cold day.
