I actually purchased another pair so when these finally wear out (which will be a long time from now, they are well made) I will have another pair to use. Some reviewers said to buy a larger size, I bought my regular size, they fit fine. Also the tongue did rub just a couple of times the 2nd or 3rd time I wore them, but it went right away and molded to my foot. I have now started alternating the two pairs so I know they are completely dry when I start out in the morning. Sometimes if they are damp on the outside overnight (if I forget to put them on the heater after a really wet day) they will let a sllight bit of dampness in after about 1.5 hrs of use. It has never happened when they started out DRY.. even after 8 hrs.
BUT, last week I went to Norway and I was kayaking and hiking in them and when I came home, my shoes smelled TERRIBLE. Like mildewy gross even though they've been plenty wet before. I've run them through the wash twice with OdoBan, and Lysol'ed the heck out of them and they still smell really, really bad. Not sure if it's the way they got wet or something I did or the shoes' fault, but I'm contemplating throwing them away because it's so bad. Anyone else have an issue with these shoes smelling? I don't have particularly stinky feet and none of my other shoes smell... just these :'(
After writing the above review, I contacted Shoe Parlor and was most pleased with their response to the defective shoes. They asked me to return the shoes to them (at their expense) and replaced the shoes within 2 weeks. Shoe Parlor was most accommodating and prompt in their service and I would definitely purchase shoes from them in the future. Thank you, Shoe Parlor and Amazon.com.
UPDATE: IN reference to the "waterproofness" - they are fantastic. I have been out in the field with a significant amount of puddles and my feet remain dry.
So far, highly recommend!
