I rate it at 3 stars because although the cover boasts "Over 75,000 definitions", words such as ontological and multivalent are not included.
I highly recommend this dictionary for students at the high school level, but university students should keep searching.
Half way into this book, somebody suggested it wasn't a novel. So I have updated my review, the rest of this review is based on that premise.
I found this book very difficult to read. It would seem to me, that if somebody wants to know what all the english language words mean, it would make sense to start with the most common words at the beginning, yeah know, so people can start using them sooner. I mean, it's not like somebody is going to fly through this book in an hour or two . . . I gotta believe it will take most people at least two weeks to get through it all.
How ridiculous, I literally had to read about 2/3rds of this book before I got to the word "THE". Now, I know from personal experience that THE is a pretty common word. In fact, it was used in many of the (<<<see, there it is again!) sub-chapters that came before it in this book, like that doesn't confirm my belief.
I really think THE should have appeared in one of the first few pages.
And another complaint: ZOO. I know ZOO is a word used a lot more frequently than a bunch of those other words that appeared in the (<<< see, its used again) first 100 pages, heck, I couldn't even pronounce some of those words. Are people really spending time on those words that are like never, ever actually used? If they want to get more younger readers, they really should move ZOO closer to the (<<< and again) front. I think a lot of younger kids will get tired of this book before they can learn what a zoo is. And I think ZOO is something a lot of kids would be interested in.Read more ›
Mine came with what seems to be some sort of misprint on the entry for the word 'fate', but besides that, so far so good.

Excellent size for daily use and for carrying with you. Plenty big for almost any word. I give this to students. Inexpensive and adequate.Published 22 days ago by Don Coder
The print is so small, all the words crowded. That's how your brain feels once you open the dictionary: crowded, overwhelmed, saturated, crazy, out out of one's mind.Published 27 days ago by Aq79
Very disappointed. I used it to look up the word of the day on the Factor - Bill O'Reilly. This dictionary did not have the first three words I tried to look up. Read morePublished 29 days ago by curtis brunt
