My dogs absolutely ADORE this stuff. It does have quite a bit of chicken broth compared to some other high quality canned foods, but that only makes it more palatable and definitely pleasing to the human eye. Full chunks of meat, not some process to look like meat stuff, carrots, beans, it looks like what I would cook for my dog if I were to go to that much effort (which I don't). I travel a lot with my small dog, so I get the small cans with the pop top as they work for a one serving and I don't have to bring a can opener. For home I ordered the large cans as they are considerably more economical and can be stored for a couple days after opening, was pleasantly surprised to find they are also the easy to use pop top style.

Books say when packing into the wilderness take a can of dog food as an emergency food since it is high in protein, easy to carry, won't spoil and will do in an emergency. Well I always thought I'd rather starve than eat dog food, until I saw this, I would eat if I HAD to to stay alive. That doesn't mean I'm going on a dog food diet by any means, but it means that it looks about as good as any canned stew you find for people.

Bottom line, I HIGHLY recommend this brand and flavor, will certainly buy again!

So, I was on the fence as to who should get the bad review on this one. Merrick or Amazon, but after some inspection I've come to the conclusion this one is on Merrick.

I received my order today and all but two cans were dented. Some of them dented very badly and in several spots. They're dented so badly that I cannot even stack them due to most of the lips being bent. I know most people might think its due to shipping and not the fault of Merrick, but I don't think that's true. The box this case arrived in is in perfect condition. It doesn't seem to have ben damaged in any way, whatsoever. The case inside the box is packaged by Merrick and that is where the problem seems to stem from. The plastic wrap that surrounds the case of cans that are placed in a Merrick labeled box flat was not tight enough to keep the cans from shifting. In addition to that, the plastic wrap was damaged and had two holes in it.

As for the product itself. This is a fantastic dog food. My dog loves this stuff, and though I will never purchase it in this way again, I will continue to buy it from my local pet store. I thought I'd save some money buy ordering it by the case, but after spending close to $30 for all but two useless cans is hardly a savings at all.

I chose this brand because of the ingredients, with real turkey, duck and chicken as 3 of the first 4 ingredients (the 4th being chicken broth). My 2 dogs (150# Newfie and 80# retriever) love it and I feel like I am feeding them more than empty calories, filler and gravy. This is chunky style and I add a spoonful to their dry food at every meal. A can will last 3-4 meals. A little higher priced, but I am very selective about everything they put in their bodies. Both dogs are rescues and I want them to live a full, happy, healthy life.

The Merrick line of canned foods are rated "5 stars" by Dog Food Advisor, an independent food testing source. My dogs agree with that rating! They love it. It looks like real food, doesn't have the greasy look of many canned foods, and the product description on Merrick's website made me feel secure about the safety and nutritional content of the ingredients used. We use it as a supplement to a mainly home-prepared diet. The cost of using it as the primary food would not be feasible for me, but I wouldn't hesitate to use it as my dogs' main food if cost weren't a consideration. I will say Amazon's price per case comes out to much less than the cost of buying single cans in our local whole foods market.

Have been feeding Merrick for a few years now. Like that they offer lower protein or lower fat recipes that the dogs enjoy eating. The only real con is the gas the dogs get....it's pretty consistent and smelly. Has to be something in here that causes that flatulence. The dogs do like the taste....no complaints from them. Made in the USA is a plus, too.

My pup has been eating Merrick wet food for the last 4 years. He has a sensitive stomach and has had intestinal infections in the past that's hospitalized him. Since I dished out the extra money to feed him a better diet, his coat is amazing, he loves the taste and his poop is a lot better. He doesn't need to go to the vet anymore unless its for his yearly.

Turducken flavor isn't his favorite but he does like it. It looks almost like a chicken soup without the noodles. Merrick's food looks like human food. Seriously. I've thought about tasting it a few times. It's all natural and I bet it's delicious!

Turducken was our favorite until the last batch arrived in the smaller can. Obviously the "new" version. The can size isn't that big of a deal, but what was inside was nothing but mushy, slop. Totally agree with everyone else, Turducken used to be chock full to the lid of chunks with a bit of gravy. Sadly, it now looks like something my bud already ate and brought back. :/ Will not order this flavor again. Also, there were a number of dented cans between this and the cowboy cookout I ordered so I went to Chewy and just received my first order of 2 cases (cowboy cookout & Thanksgiving day dinner) and not even 1 dented can.
