I laughed, I cried, I wanted to throw the book, which considering its on my phone not a good idea😂 and I wanted to strangle one or both of the characters on more then one occasion. I also pulled hard for them through every misunderstanding and confusing moment this book is a joy and the perfect book to get you into the holiday spirit
This book will pull at the heart strings. I loved the family dynamics from Merry and the lack of them from Jayson. I loved the lessons this book taught, and the way hearts were softened. Every character had their moment and every character had my heart. I loved Merry's brother Patrick who is eighteen and has down syndrome, and Merry's mother trying to brighten her daughters life while struggling with her own health issues. We don't see much of her father but we know he loves his family.
Jayson's family is the opposite while he is very close to his cousin and semi close to an uncle he has a very bad relationship with his parents and this colors his views on love.
These two are perfect in their imperfections and had my heart beating at several scenes.
Bright is a hard working, young man, striving to earn his Uncle's approval and, in the future, his position at the firm. His family isn't close, and Christmas is a uncomfortable season for him.
Enter well meaning family...Merry and Bright find themselves profiled on a popular dating site. Each of their profile pictures is a beloved pooch! Who is going to want to date a dog?
In this Christmas novel you will enjoy meeting each of the main characters. Enjoy!
Jayson Bright is in charge of a special project for his uncle's company. He's been working overtime & pushing his staff to make sure they get the information compiled before the reports due date. He can't let his uncle down. His cousin called to ask him to be his best man since he's getting married. Jayson realized he had been feeling lonely & dissatisfied in his life & signed up for an internet dating service.
In typical Debbie Macomber fashion, this story takes internet dating & makes it hilarious & touching. The writer has created wonderful characters where initial impressions are completely wrong. Jayson comes across as a by the books, grumpy boss until he is encountered outside the office. Patrick & his lack of filters creates several funny instances. The plot takes something that has become commonplace & takes us along as it starts going wrong. Another great story by a great author!
Jayson Bright is a grumpy boss… he rarely smiles and has a very gruff nature around the office. His employees steer clear of him when possible and that suits him just fine. Merry Knight is a temporary employee working for Jayson and she is a cheerful friendly soul who cannot understand Jayson’s demeanor.
Merry is working to save up enough $ for tuition and her job will end just before Christmas but that does not hamper her Christmas spirit. As a birthday/Christmas gift, her brother and mother sign her up for a dating service as she has no social life to speak of. Rather than use her real photo, they posted a picture of the family dog as her profile photo. This leads to an interesting twist in the story….
When his cousin reveals that he is engaged, Jayson realizes how empty his life is and he signs up on the same dating site as Merry. Funny thing is, he uses his dog’s photo in his profile as well. As fate would have it.. the two of them find each other on the site and start chatting, all the while not having any clue that they already know each other.
The plot thickens as they say… but no spoilers here… you will have to read the book to discover what happens next! The mistaken identities lead to some interesting moments!
I loved this book and it has all the elements of a great Hallmark Channel holiday movie. It is only October but I am already in the Christmas spirit after reading this wonderful book.

This story focusses on Merry. Merry is a family devoted, hard-working and Christmas loving 20-something who has taken on a temp job to fund her college semester. Merry finds herself on a dating app however all is not what is seems and Merry finds herself in a predicament.
I won't spoil it for anyone but this is a lovely, light-hearted Christmas story. I read it in a 24 hour period and if you enjoyed the film 'You've got Mail' you will especially love this.
Merry is a temp working in an office for Jayson Bright. She works hard to help provide for her family. Her Mum and Brother sign her up for an online dating service - she finds a match.
Jayson is working for his Uncle who owns the company, he rarely had time to do anything except work. His cousin and closest friend has recently met a woman whom he is marrying, he met her through an online dating service.
Merry and Jayson's worlds collide, what will happen ?
I really enjoyed this book and read in it one session. Ideal for this busy time of year when you need a break from the manicness of the season!
There is some repetition of ideas.
The plot line is a plausible variation on the movie "You've got mail" and the characters are well drawn and likeable.
