The Meshforce M3s worked as advertised with regard to extending my WiFi signal throughout my home, however, the following items are limitations which I found to be marginally objectionable:
1. There is no built-in USB port to allow for the connection of an external hard drive for network storage. I did not notice this at first but discovered later there is no USB port on any of the Meshforce M3s modules. Other comparable mesh network systems do, in fact, include USB ports. I just assumed, without looking closely, the Meshforce units included USB. My bad. Again, likely not a big deal for most users. As an alternative, there are inexpensive USB-to-Ethernet adapters which allow for the networking of USB-equipped hard drive enclosures.
2. Unlike most traditional dual-band routers, all of the mesh network routers I've seen manage traffic on the two bands (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, respectively) via some sort of software algorithm. With my single-point Linksys router I could choose which band/network I wanted to connect to with devices such as my laptop or my smartphone. Mesh networking utilizes a single SSID and will assign a band for you dependent upon a variety of factors such as traffic load, signal strength, etc. This is typically not an issue; however, there are instances when I absolutely require the additional throughput of the 5GHz band on my laptop. Problem is, dependent upon the factors just mentioned, I may not always be able to access the 5GHz band. This requires me to stop and examine which devices are active on my network and, subsequently, determine which devices I will be forced to shut down in order to free up space on the 5GHz band.
Tech support was reasonably responsive (email only) but most of what I received was scripted. It took several attempts to finally bring closure to the Ethernet print server issue I was having. I'm not sure the support person knew what function a print server/adapter actually performs let alone provide insight as to why it wouldn't work. Ultimately, I was simply told my devices were incompatible but with no technical explanation.
The Meshforce hardware is non-intrusive in its size and appearance. The modules look good and seem to blend in easily with most of our home décor.
The MyMesh app is well designed but doesn't always seem to reflect connected devices accurately. I'm sure there will be future upgrades to the app which will likely address this shortcoming.
Overall, I am very pleased with my Meshforce networking setup. We now have ubiquitous coverage for our 2,800 sq. ft., two-level home and we are finally able to leverage the full 200+ Mbps throughput from our internet subscription in every part of our home.
Not experiencing a mesh network geared towards residential users before I didn’t expect much. Once I received this I plugged the first mesh point near the modem in the basement and downloaded the app.
The App
The app has the option to setup an account so you can control the mesh points from anywhere. I set it up to try and it provides the exact same experience as if you were connecting to your network at home.
The settings for the iOS app are as follows:
- Wireless Settings
- Wifi Name
- Wifi Password
- Guest Network
- Wifi Name
- WiFi Password
- Validity Period (4 hours, 8 hours, Always valid)
- Parental Controls
- Add (Free to type fields)
Once you add a group it gives you an option to allow or disallow access to the internet. There is the ability to add time periods as well.
- Internet Settings (Automatically configured based on what type of internet you have.)
- QoS (Quality of Service - the router prioritizes different traffic like gaming, web browsing, and VoIP.)
- Add a Mesh
Adding a mesh is simple. Once you've placed the new mesh point somewhere you click the Next button, Next to confirm you've plugged it in, and then you position the camera on your phone or tablet over the QR code on the bottom of the mesh point. It'll confirm it's connecting to it and you're good to go.
- Fast Roaming
This is the advantage of mesh points over regular routers. It allows a smooth hand over from one of the mesh points to another to allow you to seamlessly travel across your home without needing to reconnect from one router or access point to another. They provide the option to disable this option if a device doesn't support quick handovers. The example they gave is iOS 4.0 and earlier.
- Capacity-oriented Mode
This function is meant for if you have over 30 devices connected at one time. This reduces the maximum speed each device is capable of using.
- Smart Assistant
This connects your device to a 2.4 GHz network for 30 minutes to allow you do discover and setup legacy devices that only connect to 2.4GHz WiFi signals.
- Port Forwarding
This allows you to forward any ports necessary for gaming, web servers, etc.
- UPnP (Universal Plug and Play)
This allows devices that support the standard to automatically enable any needed ports on your mesh router.
- DHCP Server
Each device needs an IP address. Enabling this on the mesh point allows it to assign those to your devices.
- DNS
This is used to convert domain names (amazon.com) to their actual IP addresses for your devices to connect to. This can be changed here.
- Firmware Upgrade
This allows you to view, check for updates, and update the mesh points through the app.
- Maintenance Schedule
This allows you to set the mesh points to automatically reboot on certain days of the week and at certain times. This is an automated way of "unplug and plug it back in".
- Account Authorization
You can add additional accounts to manage the mesh points if you'd like through this.
The Mesh Points
These are very simple and elegant little boxes. They have an LED that changes colors based on its connectivity but can be disabled through the app. You place them within two rooms (10 meters/32 feet) of each other and they'll cover quite a bit of area.
For my scenario I placed on next to the modem provided by my ISP, one behind the TV upstairs, and one in our closet in the master bedroom. Realistically the one in the bedroom wasn't needed inside but provides better coverage outside in our backyard where we need it.
My Floor Plans
I've included both my basement and upstairs floor plans that include the placement and how far the strongest signal was by using the test device. To the left of the blue lines upstairs and downstairs is when the WiFi signal bar finally drops off approximately from 4 bars down to 3 when testing 1 mesh point on each floor. I was able to connect to them everywhere within my home which was a nice change for once.
Overall
I’m happy with the purchase as I can live with the high-level amount of control they provide. Dues to my work schedule I don't have the time to sit and configure every little detail to fine tune something. This plugs in, you use the app to configure and connect, and your done. Its worked so well that I've been using it for a few months and just remembered I haven't completed a review for it yet.
My only complaints I’d have is that the lack of centralized parental controls available through this. The only available option is to put devices within groups and enable/disable internet access. The alternative is to manually change the DNS settings to those provided by CleanBrowsing or OpenDNS.

So I bought this 3 node mesh in order to improve the signal in that room. It has generally worked, although every 6 weeks or so the speed/connection would get really spotty, and typically I would have to reboot the mesh node (unplug/plug back in).
I will say it generally worked, although my wife (her office is in that room) would still complain from time to time about how slow it could get at times, and dealing with random spotty dropped connections. If that were the end of the story I'd leave this as an average 3 star review. However, recently an update that the mesh app said needed to be downloaded to my mesh nodes has bricked all 3 of them. None of them will factory reset. There is nothing I can do to get these back online. They are now garbage. Of course out of warranty so nothing I can do there. Hence the 1-star stability rating.
I wanted to save money at the time I bought these and now regret the decision as I'll end up paying more due to having to replace these bricked devices. YMMV, but I honestly could not recommend them.
Package box:
Pretty simple with 3 wifi devices and 3 charging adapters. One setup booklet which before you open the setup will be done and that's it.
Product build quality:
The wifi meshes weigh very light as e have some simple range extenders. These are all well built and seems to fit at all the joints and closures very well. I am in impressed with the look of it and how light weight they are.
Setup and connectivity:
I had to setup one mesh device to connect it to all the other mesh nodes(wifi boxes). I connected the mesh with WAN cable and then connected the Device using the MyMesh app from the play store, that was pretty cool and easy. Then to connect all the other devices i just had to plug then to the electrical socket and boom all setup. Make sure all the meshes have good connectivity, means placed in the appropriate range. By the way wifi range is 7-8 metres to get the full signal after that range drops to half and then goes weak.
Wifi Signal quality and speed:
My house is average size and I had placed all the devices in close distances and all the messages had good signal. I was getting good signal all around the house.
2.4 Ghz speed:
Most of my devices were getting pretty good speed and travelled fast to all the devices. The Device handover was quick and seemless.
5Ghz speed:
Most of my devices at home are on 5 Ghz band and and i was able to get good connectivity around the main mesh that was connected using WAN. But as soon as I moved to the upper floor where i had placed the other mesh the Signal was full but the speed went down to half and even sometimes 1/3 of the main wifi mean.
Note: If anyone looking for a 5Ghz range extender then i would say not the good choice.

If you are a general web surfer this is a good product. Don't know for heavy gamers
The initial set up was not that hard, if you know basics of computer you can get this in no time. Just turn off your wifi from modem, hook up the lan cable and set this up. Good and easy
Also it blends well with the surrounding, doesn't feel bulky or out of rhythm of home decor
