The combination of Kaprex & Inflavonoid Intensive Care got me *almost entirely off Vicodin within a month of beginning them & dramatically reduced my need for Ibuprofin. I would probably have been completely off of everything but these supplements if I had done what my doctors advised and changed professions ... but that is easier advised than actually done in this economy.
If it's swelling/inflammation is an issue still like I had (7lbs of water weight on my damaged knee!!) try using the Ultra Inflamx protein powder in combo with these as well. I was on the regular Ultra Meal stuff for weight loss (despite my love for tacos ... this is one of the best things to reduce the joint strain) but the water weight was stubbornly not shedding due to inflammation, so the dietician switched me to the Inflamax and BAM! Yea, peed like a juiced up racehorse, but dang it worked!!
It's pretty rare that I need Ibuprofen or Vicodin anymore. I haven't even asked for a Vicodin refill in the last 3 yrs, and my surgery was 3.5 yrs ago!
Preceding my hip inflammation by four or so years, a long standing condition of repetitive injury, specifically groin strain, then the pain/inflammation and weakness began spreading to the adductor muscle (inside thigh muscle), then continuing on to affect my abductor or outside thigh muscle and IT band, which runs from knee to upper side buttocks, into the lower back, this IT band is very long!. So in this cascade of effects, the hip joint was out of alignment and then subject to friction because it was no longer sitting in the proper alignment.
Though various chiropractors and massage therapists offered me some relief, with one chiropractor getting me back to about 85%range of motion and no pain. However, for some unknown reason he changed his protocol and it was no longer effective in putting and/or keeping the hip joint in its place. Had someone somewhere along the way, given me hip stabilization exercises, which I found out too late from a sports therapist, I would rarely have had to go back to someone to have this hip joint put back into place, instead keeping the joint aligned with very specific exercises designed to keep it there.
So I find myself not only with osteoarthritis, but also still the chronic pain, weakness and inflammation surrounding the whole hip complex.
Though prescription strength ibuprophen, and then sometimes flexaril - muscle relaxer - would often give me immediate relief, taking these over a long period of time are actually detrimental to the health of the joint and muscle tissues.
