Seems like a brand new copy of metal gear one of my favorites can’t wait to play it and enjoy the memories that I made when I was younger! Sadly when I opened the package my game case was broke and won’t close and the protective plastic is coming off..with the not so good packaging “just a envelope and no bubble wrap”it has no good protection for the product and highly recommend better even if it cost more since I paid full price for a game that’s this old. hopefully I can find a new case to swap it out with other then that everything looks good! And extremely fast shipping would buy from again.

great graphics, story, with many puzzles. one of the best tactical game . the storyline of this game is good but i prefer the first metal gear solids adventure. hideo kojima has created wonderful game that become one of the famous installments for playstation. i know this game has a lot of fans (i am not between them) and most of the gamers choice is the metal gear solid. in other way, dialogues and videos take too much time that should become boring. some boss fights are not realistic. for example: when raiden meets the whole army of metal gears and he is capable to defeat many of them. that was not my expectation for sure. this game caused enough interest to play next release called metal gear solid : snake eater.

MGS2 starts out rather straight forward and has the expectable 50 plot twists before its over. However this one takes it even further and some of the weird stuff that happens towards the end might be pretty confusing. (like having in game characters break the 4th wall by telling you to turn off the game console!!)

I love Raiden. He should totally star in more Metal Gear games. It is unfortunate that you only get that sword so late in the game but I think you can unlock it for the whole game later.

All in all very impressive.

Yes by now!!!!!!! you know i own this game , i love every moment of this game , i don't care about the long dialoge it somehow appeal to my intellectual vanities,the cut scences were teriffic a little to much at times but the game play makes up for that, i felt pupose plying this game and at times i really felt like the real thing (whatever that is ha ha ha ha!!!!!)xbox may be powerful but Ps2 , will always come out on top because!!!!!! it's just that good i have not played the game cube as yet but so far i love my ps2 i am a true nitendo fan , i am now experimenting with diffrerent types of game consoles i love the ps2 even if its the weakest out there , it some how uses it strenght to its best avantage, i can't wait to play metal gear 3 laterzzzzzzzz gamers!!!!!!!

I really enjoyed the first game, and I think the second is great too! You play as Solid Snake in the introduction, on a tanker, and the rest of the game as Raiden, a new MGS character. Many people hate this game because of Raiden, but I think it's great! Raiden brings in a new age of MGS, in the sense that this is the game when the world gets bigger. The story is more convoluted, and complex. But, there are also many pros. It looks good, still to this day, and the gameplay tweaks (mostly using weapons in first-person) are greatly appreciated. It's a great game, and I recommend it!

I have waited for this game for an extraordinarily long time. I anticipated it would be the best game I had ever played. But I was wrong. The part of the game where you are actually playing is mediocre at best. It never really takes a jump above what the last game was. The graphics are fantastic, but beyond that there are hardly any improvements. The diversity of the missions is mildly entertaining (though boring at times). Also, the storyline leaves a horrible taste in my mouth. In the first MGS there were alot of plot twists and towards the end you made some crazy revelations, as you realized what was actually going on. The difference between MGS and MGS2 is that the storyline in MGS makes sense... In MGS2 they try so hard to duplicate the story of MGS that they go way overboard with all the plot twists and craziness. After it is all over you will most likely be wondering why you bothered playing at all. By the time I reached the end of the game the story had become so convoluted and ridiculous, that I just wanted to get it over with so I could quit playing. Also being forced to sit through cut scenes of conversation lasting upwards of 30 - 40 minutes between sections where you can play for 2 - 3 minutes... The last couple hours of this game are mind numbing, and sitting and watching hours of this horrible story drained my will to live. It might have been bareable, had the story not been so ignorant. I am no stranger to watching long story sequences, as I'm a huge fan of RPG's like Final Fantasy, but this was ridiculous. Before I ever reached the end of the game I knew that if I ever did decide to play through it again, I would have to skip all of the story scenes, lest I be forced to throw my PS2 against the nearest wall.
My recommendation? Don't let anybody who is a suicide risk play this game, it will push them over the edge.

Good Game with a Great Story

This game is among my favorites in the series. Its gameplay is good enough throughout, with some improvements making it fun, but what really makes me love this game is the story. The final hour of the game in particular is incredible with a great twist. I would have to say, however, that you will get the most out of this game if you play the first three beforehand, being Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, and Metal Gear Solid.
