Metal Gear 3: Subsistence is a PS2 exclusive that redefines the classic stealth gaming experience. It's got all-new game modes, including a new online game mode. Choose "Team Battle" or "Snake vs. Enemies" and carry out missions cooperatively or competitively. The new 3rd-person camera controls gives a controllable, low-angle view of the action for a more intense stealth-action experience. Demo Theater Mode - Watch All In-Game Movies from MGS3 similar to a theatrical movie Refined camera system -- players get to control the viewing angle New facepaint options, for custom camouflage

The Subsistence re-release is a way to get a little bit more out of your favorite game in the MGS series. I generally prefer this over MGS4 in terms of replayabilty and not that MGS4 was in anyway a bad game just simply not as good as this one.
Subsistence gives you the wrap around camera but you can switch it back to the original set up but I prefer the new camera system especially since I've gotten used to it being there in MGS4. This gives you some new camos, that are pretty much useless in the game, and some new weapons. It also includes the two original NES games which was a nice feature to have and there's a bonus disc with a bunch of videos, some of them are downright hilarious but most of them are just the cut scenes from the game.
Kojima is one of the best directors in videogames with a very astistic point of view without letting the action fall apart. It has a feeling of being a somewhat old war movie so it will bring some nostalgia for those lovers of the genre.
I won't ruin the game for those who haven't played it yet but for some people like me this is even better than Metal Gear 4. If you liked the other MGS's you will love this one.
ANY gamer can't die without play MGS3 first. Period.
Buy this and play this if you have any interest in video games.
metal gear online servers are no longer up, permanently ;_;.
but hey you still get snake vs. monkey and the original metal gear games for msx.
and i love the new camera perspective, you really cant go back to snake eater after playing it this way.
only con is there is no chapter select so you cant easily get to your favorite part unless you start a new game or make a save at that point.
