First thing to note is that this game is online only even for the single player portion. Just a heads up if you have bandwidth caps or do not live in a area with internet/stable internetAs stated in the title of this review; this game has a lot of resource management as well as crafting. The resource management is ridiculous, I spent more time finding and consuming food/water, keep track of your oxygen gauge (when in the dust or foggy area of map) than actual combat/progression. It's sort of like 'Day Z' or 'Don't Starve' but your hunger/thirst rate depletes faster.A lot of gauges to keep track of in this game: Hunger, Thirst, Oxygen, Health, Stamina. Some interconnect with one another like health, stamina and hunger especially when you get heavy damage from enemies. You have to worry about a lot of factors before tacking a mission, because the checkpoint system is horrible and you may lose upwards to 20mins of progress and materials gathered. It's a lot of tedious juggling and the fun factor dies down really quick if you're not patient and/or get upset by losing a lot of progress if an enemy pops out of nowhere and kill you.Crafting is also important in the game. Resources are limited so you have to decided what to use and not use. For example do you want to craft a kettle to make clean water out of dirty water (which can get you sick and lose health overtime) or craft/repair a weapon instead to easily take down zombiesStory. Plot wise, you are infected with zombie type virus from another dimension and you have to find a cure by doing these missions someone give you. The first few hours is a lot of exposition, tutorials and cutscenes. After that, you have to spend maybe 3 or so additional hours just to get the hang of the game mechanics. In terms of Metal Gear storyline...it's a bit of a spin off story where your customized character (who was part of Snakes army) gets sucked into this wormhole to another dimension and as mentioned before gets infected.Character customization is very robust in this game, and by far the one of the best (if not the best) I've seen in any game.Online PVE is fun though if you have friends to play with. It's hoard mode with again a lot of resource management. Unlike the single player game, the resources are more abundant and you be crafting and killing enemies than gathering items. In this game you have to craft bullets and arrows; so unless you really need it, melee items and fortifying defenses are the way to go.Overall, I think this game is for a very niche audience. If you don't like managing a lot of different resource bars (health, hunger, stamina, thirst etc) and have to constantly craft things to stay alive this game may not be for you. If you're a hardcore survive type gamer then this game is definitely for you.
