Metalocalypse: Season 4 (Blu-ray)

The wait is almost over as the almighty Dethklok will return to Blu-ray and DVD with the complete season 4 of Metalocalypse. This season features guest appearances from the likes of Corpsegrinder (Cannibal Corpse), Cam Pipes (3 Inches Of Blood), Dweezil Zappa, actor Jon Hamm and director Werner Herzog. 2012 is a big year for Adult Swim's favorite metal band. They will be performing live from USS Midway in July at Comic Con, headlining a 34 date concert tour starting this August, and releasing a new album this fall. All of this couldn't be complete without the Blu-ray and DVD release of Metalocalypse Season 4 on October 30.

First off I wasn't sure how good this season was going to be, since I wasn't too impressed with season 3. Glad I got it anyways. I was actually laughing alot through this season. On the serious side of Detklok they finally put more storyline to Mr. Salacia (however you spell it) and Falconback as well. There were some repetitious jokes and scenes and that's why the 4 stars, as well as seeming a little short. Overall definitely worth buying.

This is the best season of the show yet. The characters get some much needed development and everyone gets at least one WOW episode dedicated to themselves. I'm a little pissed that we now have to wait for season 5.

I don't really like the direction Metalocalypse is going, and the season ends on a hell of a cliffhanger. That being said, the humor is still there, and the season is pretty much a stable development from the last. I loved the series before this season, and I eagerly await season 5.

I didn't even know there was a 4th season because I didn't have cable for a while.

When I ordered this I got all I love about Metalocalypse in spades. The humor and music are just as unique and brilliant as the First 3 Seasons.

I can only hope they continue production!

Traditionally, Metalocalypse has been a regular (for lack of a better word) comedy show wherein Dethklok usually plays one song per episode which tends to be only thematically related to the goings-on of that episode. There have been a few episodes in which individual characters sang songs directly stemming from the plot, like Skwisgaar in "Fatherklok," or Toki in several episodes that focused on him, but they were rare. In season 4, however, there are a lot of episodes where this happens, often more than once, as the show finally starts to commit to its potential as a legitimate musical. Then, of course, later came The Doomstar Requiem, which was one giant medley of songs, making it more of a musical than most musicals that are out there.

I can't say for sure whether it's a coincidence or a causality, but in my opinion, the more musical-ish the show gets, the better it also gets. This is the best season of the series.

BUT ALSO VERY METAL

The most metal show on the planet returns for a gorefest of a 4th season.
Lives up to previous seasons, and the return to shorter episodes is welcomed as I found the 20+ minute eps dragged a bit.
Music still kicks A#$, voice acting is still hilarious and the over the top violence and arterial spray is still outrageous and wonderful.
Can't recommend enough.

This season was absolutely hilarious. Not to mention the new Dethklok album you can hear in the background. Brandon Small the creator of Metalocalypse is a musical genius. Coupled with the fact that his show is very entertaining it gets a 5 star rating. A must for any Dethklok/Metalocalypse fan.
