I purchased this to act as a cross-reference between US and rest-of-world standards for materials and finishes. What I received is a giant phone book of self referencing specifications between ASTM and ASE. Which, I suppose is useful for automotive suppliers.
However, I focused on the 'internationally used' phrase. For example, I have many old prints in Italian calling out obsolete specs such as
UNI-5705-65 brass. Finding a US equivalent from an accredited source is nigh on impossible.
Also, it would have been nice to find global equivalence to ASTM finishing specs (e.g. zinc plate B633). But that would be self-defeating for an organization that sets standards for profit.
