Fit perfectly in 2000 Honda Civic

Installed in 2000 Honda Civic. Perfect fit. Of the whole bag of plastic pieces I only need the one big one that actually holds the radio. It comes with 3 different length plastic hooking tabs molded on around the edges. You will need to break off 2 and leave only the one that fits your dash. But it snaps in tight and fits perfect. DO NOT break off the wrong ones.

As a side note. If you are replacing a stock Honda radio. There are instructions online that I had to search for to find how to take apart the dash. But basically you need to remove the dash panel under the steering wheel, then pop open the glove box ALL the way down, then remove the panel under the radio that holds the accessory plug/lighter. then you can remove the top black dash that has the climate controls and radio. There are 4 screws/bolts that you can clearly see once you remove the bottom panel. Mine were kinda gold'ish in color. Then pry out the top of the radio dash panel and the whole thing will come loose. Pull the plugs from the AC/heat unit and switches out, unplug radio and walk away with the dash//radio assembly. From there it will be obvious what to do. Google and Youtube will help you if you get stuck.

I own a 2004 Honda CRV. I purchased this kit in order to install a new Kenwood KDC-152 head unit to replaced the original OEM unit in my car.

The kit itself fits fairly well. There is a small gap (~1/32") that is not properly covered by the bezel. Once installed, the head unit is held in solid.

I would say that this kit should only be used by those people who have a fairly high confidence in their skill level. The instruction book does not mention which specific set of steps to follow for my car even though the kit's documentation claims to fit my car. There are many sets of instructions, one for each model of car that the kit fits. followed the instructions for the 2002 CRV. It seemed to work.

The first set of instructions tell you to remove "all tabs except H and M". There are no tabs marked H. I had to eyeball the the insert to make my best guess as to which one the instructions referred too. I was lucky and got the correct one.

There are also many tabs that are NOT marked in any way. If you follow the instructions literally, you would remove these unmarked tabs. These tabs are important to hold the head unit securely in the dash.

Through out the install process, I was always prepared to toss the kit and get a different brand.

This dash kit worked ok for me. Kept only the tabs required by the instructions and fit in well. However, the bracket holding the stereo and pocket together didn't fit in with the factory bracket needed for the Civic. Discarded those and just used the factory brackets to hold everything in place. After figuring that out and retrofitting, it works wells and looks good. Instructions were ok but I could see how others may think they were lacking.

I bought this to hold my new stereo in a 2000 Honda civic. The Dash kit was useless, it didn't even fit into my dash without the stereo, let alone with the stereo in it. I had followed the instructions step by step but not only did the kit not fit in my car dash but the stereo didn't properly hold in the kit itself. Ended up going to Walmart and buying a standard kit which worked with a little adjustment.

Long story short. GO TO WALMART. Get a stereo kit, a stereo adapter and a wire crimping set all for 30 bucks plus whatever you pay for your stereo. Maybe others have had luck with this kit but I have not.

On the other hand the disassembly instructions were somewhat decent but if you are not somewhat intelligent you will never be able to pull your stereo out.

Would give this 0 stars if I could. I have used metra kits in the past, and they've all been okay at best. This one takes the cake as the worst though. Required to break off tabs to fit into the dash, however, half the tabs aren't labeled, including the ones the manual required me to keep. Kit would not fit correctly into the dash, and yes, my vehicle falls within the range covered by this kit.

Installed an aftermarket head unit in my 93 Honda Accord with this kit and am not totally satisfied. Based on my car's mounting arrangement, I should have gotten a different kit. There's nothing securing the head unit except for the snap ins around the facia. I can feel some play in the head unit in the dash and it bothers me. I've decided to go back to stock until I get another kit that has the mounting tab in the back that corresponds with the bracket in the car.

Fit for 1999 Honda Civic

I saw mixed reviews and Amazon has mixed items for my 1999 Honda Civic. I picked this dash kit and hoped for the best. I bought this kit from a Californian seller under twelve bucks including shipping. I just installed it with Pioneer DXT-2569UI and it was almost perfect. I posted a picture under "customer image" section. I agree that the instruction was written poorly. Anyway, I just had to follow that instruction with my own "common sense". This is my first car that I bought 2 weeks ago and my first installation of a stereo receiver.
