I hoped that there would be a bit more interaction in the Simi-open world of Metro. Another thing that constantly annoys the player is the sound of their own footsteps. It is mismatched with the speed at which you move. They should be able to fix that in an update.
For me, there are a few more issues but they are consistent with the feedback from most major critics. I wanted to disagree with them going into the experience because I am a fan of these books and games, but I feel the same way. I would probably give this game a 65/100.
Then I put in Exodus. A visually stunning game but that's it! Hard to follow where to go or look for items. Game locked up many times and had to restart on a previous check points like 4 times and I wasn't that far into the game. Glitches everywhere. I wasn't on the hardest level and couldn't find or craft enough ammo at any time. Crafting ammo out of a backpack...ya right! Guns are inaccurate and had as much stopping power as an rubber band gun. Even when you kept them CLEAN. Ya you have to clean your gun in a firefight or die...That with the game locking up at times and the running/jumping not working right with the terrain was to annoying for me. Oh ya your character wears wet, squeaky, NOISY goulashes throughout the game. I'm returning it tomorrow very disappointed! BUYER BEWARE!
I really want to like the game and will try to push trough, but right now I'm feeling frustrated.
However, there are rough spots. Stealth can be clunky. Environments are large but eerily linear, and some missions are confusing. Guns get fouled at a crazy rate and have to be cleaned. The third weapon slot has been locked to “stealth” weapons only.
Overall, Exodus is just as good as it’s predecessors. I’d give it 9/10. Currently it’s the best post-apocalyptic series we have on current-gen consoles.
