Product Description

The Mettler Toledo infrared moisture analyzer has a capacity of 35g, moisture content accuracy (also called readability) of 0.01 percent, and mass accuracy of 1mg. The matrix display is backlit to ensure easy readings of moisture content. Included are 80 aluminum sample pans that are 90mm in diameter and can be reused, but are also easily disposed of as needed, and help keep the sample chamber clear from spills. The sample pans fit in the stainless steel sample chamber, which resists corrosion from accidental spills from wet samples, and includes a draft shield and a heat shield to protect sample materials from air disturbances and direct heat. Two infrared heat sources dry samples. The RS232 port is positioned to connect to a printer or computer, and built-in functions enable work in compliance with good laboratory practices (GLP), good manufacturing practices (GMP), and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standards.

The moisture analyzer displays four results: moisture content, dry content, weight, and ATRO moisture content, which is a measurement of moisture content as compared to dry weight. Two switch-off modes control when the analyzer ends the drying process. Automatic switch-off mode turns off the heating elements based on weight loss per unit of time, and timed switch-off mode turns off the heating elements after a user-configured period of time. The ABS plastic and die-cast metal housing protect the internal weighing cell from environmental influences and impact. The analyzer has non-slip, adjustable feet and an integrated spirit level to ensure a stable, level surface.

H is height, the vertical distance from the lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back.

Balances are measuring instruments used to determine the mass of an object, while scales are used to measure the weight of an object. The measurement results from balances are generally considered to be more precise compared to results from scales. Conventional balances are commonly used in offices, the jewelry industry, and in kitchens, and display results digitally, but are less precise than analytical balances. Analytical balances measure to a high degree of precision and accuracy (0.0001 g or better), and display results digitally. These balances have a cover with doors to prevent dust and airflow from affecting the measurement. Moisture balances analyze moisture content in a material sample, using infrared or halogen heat sources to dry the sample and then calculate the moisture content from the before- and after-drying weight, and display results digitally, on the balance, or transfer the information for display on a computer.

This unit is very easy to use, it does a great job and is reliable. I have always found Mettler Toledo products to be reliable, they are a bit on the expensive side but you get what you pay for.
