I bought this book to read to my son’s second grade class. We then talked about all of the traditions and I was able to talk with a few of the students who actually celebrate this holiday and learn from them. We rounded off the activity by decorating our own sugar skulls Which we hung up on the classroom wall. The kids really enjoyed this story because the main character is the same age as them. It seemed like it hit all the major points and describe them in a way that little kids can understand.

This book is so wonderfully written and informative. I wanted to learn more about this holiday and came across this heartwarming story. I enjoyed reading about how the main character celebrates the Day of the Dead with her family and hearing about the foods eaten.
