I pretty much like every song on this CD. My favorites are "Vacacion," which is a fun, upbeat song, and "Como Lluvia," which is a mid-tempo song with a beautiful melody. "Manos al Aire" is also excellent, as are "Mi Plan" and "Suficiente Tiempo." Those are probably my top 5, though all the others are good, including "Silencio," and I don't really like Josh Groban at all.
The fact is, Nelly Furtado makes good music that lifts your spirits. She writes and sings from the heart, and that always comes through in her songs. I went to one of her concerts a few years ago, and the same can be said about her performances. I find it hard to believe that she could make music that I wouldn't like. I hope that continues to be the case.
If you like Nelly Furtado but are apprehensive about this album because it's in Spanish, don't worry. You'll still like this album. I'm convinced. Music is music.
Where the album excels is in its inclusion of guest artists who are amazing. The most notable - for me - is Buika who is just a phenomenal singer. Venegas & La Mala are two singers who are perfect for the style of music Furtado is making, and the chemistry among the singers is clear on the track.
Overall it's a decent album, but it's one that had it had more editing lyrically could have been fantastic for native and non-native speakers alike.
I've been a Nelly fan since her first CD, I've got all of them and regularly listen to them on my treadmill. I especially love Nelly's ballad's-she is so incredibly lilting, almost spiritual as she sings angelicly away. I can't think of anyone better-and my musical interests range all over the board. If you love Nelly's ballads, you won't be disappointed-this entire CD is filled with them and definitely hit the mark. There are a few latin inspired tunes (I wouldn't go as far as to use the term salsa), but the entirety of this CD is so tastefully done and features the most important and awe-inspiring component: Nelly's flowing voice in full octave! It's sweet and easy to listen to, and just has a great vibe and mood to it. If you're like me and trying to decide of you should go for a Spanish language CD, I say GO FOR IT you won't regret it. Nelly...thanks, stay true to yourself you are one of the great contemporary performers and I'm glad I found you.

I downloaded the CD and when I went to play it, it was in Spanish the entire CD. So it is on my hard drive and then I made a CD so that I could get some space back. Read morePublished on March 17, 2010 by M. Johns
