EDIT: should have paid more attention to the (recent) low reviews, I probably got the batch everyone is talking about.
EDIT#2: Seller contacted me and refunded me, upgrading to 3 stars like the others who got the weird batch of gold. When I'm under less of a crunch, I'll give these another shot, people seem pretty satisfied with the other colors, so perhaps it was just bad luck. The size and price are indeed good.
10/1/19 - Update to 4 stars, I got the "Candyfloss pink" color but can't write a new review? That seems to be a shortcoming for reviewing products that share the same listing... and while it's still messy AF when I got it, that seems to just be a "buying powdered mica from amazon" thing. The color is accurate to the screen, the container is full, and it goes really well with Stuart Semple's "Pinkest Pink" powdered pigment.

I have a couple big problems with this item, and unfortunately now the seller. There has plainly been a change in the ingredient/way this is made or there is no batch-to-batch consistency, which can be really bad if you're working on an art project. Imagine getting halfway through a painting, opening a new bottle, going back to painting to find the area you did doesn't match! After noticing some really bad reviews recently about not getting the right color, I thought maybe more people are having issues with this mica's sparkle level too. So I posted a question asking if any others had restock ordered this item and gotten mica that was no where near as sparkly as it was before...
Unfortunately Joseph from the Original Stationary company responded pretty unprofessionally to me. "Our mica has not changed since 2018, we have released a large number of coloured micas since then, but the gold has DEFINITELY not changed." - A flat out dismissal, no apology for the inconsistent color, basically telling me I was wrong, unlike a pro response such as "we're sorry to hear that, we'll look into it" like I was expecting. In general it's also not appropriate to ALL CAP LOCK certain words of a response, which are designed to be emphasized in a way that comes off as yelling or talking down to someone aggressively. Well, here's the photo proof, you've lost a repeat customer. I could easily tell even from the outside of the bottle it was no longer as sparkly, but I added some water and brushed it onto paper too for your reference (see pics). I hope other people find this review helpful.
----10-2019 UPDATE ---- I have removed this response from the comments below in hopes that more people will see it WITHIN the review. I have also updated the stars from 1 to 2 AFTER receiving an apology from the seller, which is a step that deserves acknowledgement. Due to some poor comment responses from other customers, I'd like to add the following --1) The assumed refund/replacement never happened. A replacement was desired, but for the unforeseeable future could not be obtained - they said they would make no guarantee to make sure it was the correct original product. Why offer a replacement if you're just offering more frustration with the color I wasn't happy with? This also implies that they know they are currently selling a different product than before (with no warning to repeat customers). They acted like they are just waiting for the dull, less sparkly, stock to be cycled through, and perhaps after a while would have the original version back again. This was overall a poor experience. Regardless of my previous happiness with their product, a bait-and-switch is deserving of a low star review --2) A negative review was only written after attempting communication with the seller and receiving rude dismissive feedback. Before leaving a review, I simply asked them if the product had recently changed. Another company rep, Joseph rudely dismissed my concerns. The other rep (Sam, shown in the comments below) only reacted with the apology after a negative review was published. --3) There are only so many steps the customer should be expected to take to attempt to fix a situation. All reviewers, including top contributors have a responsibility to leave negative reviews for negative experiences. It can't always be 5 stars and I do my best to leave honest reviews.
(FYI about leaving comments to reviews - Amazon does not notify the reviewer about comments. They stopped sending email notifications years ago. If you leave a lot of reviews, the odds that you're looking through old ones to check if someone said anything in response is time consuming and unlikely. Many reviewers will never see comments and if they do it may happen months later, as in this case when I thought about this product again much later in time.)
