Editorial Reviews

From the Author

This is a novella supplement to the All the King's Men series. It is highly advised that you read Rise of the Fallen before reading this novella. Reading book two of the series, Heart of the Warrior, would also be beneficial, but not absolutely necessary before reading Micah's Calling.

Micah's calling, the need to propagate the race, finds Micah having no complaints with the physical demands it requires of him, nor does Sam. During the course of his calling, Micah introduces Sam to a new side of his sexual proclivities, yielding a surprise for both of them. Sam also has a side to her that is a pleasant surprise to Micah. When Trace is introduced into the mix, the bond between the three of them is strengthened even more. We learn a great deal about Trace, which in itself is a calling card. BDSM is present. MICAH'S CALLING is a sexy little novella that you won't want to put down.

Well what can I say, this book is absolutely the icing on the cake that Rise of the Fallen AKM needed. I love the relationship between Micah and Sam! I absolutely love Trace and cannot wait for a book on him! If you think this book is HOT, which it truly IS! Trace's book would be a SCORCHER!!! Keep them coming Donya!!!!!

When I reviewed the second book of this series, I mistakenly referred to it solely as a "gay book". What Donya has done is write a series of books which encompasses the entire spectrum of lives that exist in the real world. Granted, she has written them within the context of a fantastical world filled with vampires and drecks. There are characters who are gay, straight, bi. Characters who are into "alternative" forms of sex, etc. She's created a magical world that reflects the rich diversity of the real world we live in.

The characters are rich and the story line is absolutely delicious. In this particular story, she delves into the idea that even the strongest can fall. Strength and power are nothing to the detriment to a broken heart. Yes, the sex scenes are graphic. The language can be sometimes harsh. Yet, there's an underlying sensitivity to the characters. The main female character is strong and not some whiny damsel-in-distress. Micah is sometimes arrogant and yet he has a sensitivity that's just so wonderful. I would highly recommend this book (and series).

This was an interesting addition to the series and a great excuse for more sex which the author certainly throws in. Trace and his needs play a big part in this as does Micah and Sam's reaction to him. It may not be everyone's cup of tea but the breezy writing style keeps us entertained. If anything it was too short and we missed the addtion of the other characters from this series even if only to keep the world building buoyant. These are fascinating sexual creatures and overall the books are a good read.

I just finished this book with my hand over my heart a smile on my face and a sigh. LOVED IT!! I loved Micah & Sam in Rise of the Fallen and then in Heart of the Warrior I got to see another side of Micah that made me fall in love a little more. Now I think I am hopelessly in love with Micah & Sam. They are oh so sweet. There are moments where I busted out laughing and parts I just sighed and was in awe of the love they share. Can't help but to love Trace also and I can't wait to see where it goes from here.

Micah's Calling is a novella that bridges books two wnd three in the All The Kings Men Paranormal series. It focuses on the relationahips of Micah, Sam and Trace. It is exciting and intense and the only complaint I had was I wanted more!! I am excited and a little afraid of what comes next for the boys of the AKM. This is a wonderful and steamy series. Love it!

I really do love this series! It is one of the few that can make me stop doing anything else so that I can catch up with these people. The story is always interesting and has enough twists and turns to keep you glued to the page. The vampires have such interesting powers and each one is just a bit different from one another that it keeps you guessing.have to say that I love the fact that these vampires actually purr when they are aroused, that sounds so hot. Everyone of them is so well drawn that you have no problem sympathizing with them or disliking those who are less savory.

The entire story takes place directly after the events in Rise of the Fallen. This is when Micah is in the depths of his Calling with Samantha. He is unable to go any amount of time without having sex and work is not an option. The only thing they really do is hang out with Traceon on occasion. There are secrets revealed and kinks uncovered for all.

I am so glad I got a chance to get a better understanding of Trace as a character. He has always been very mysterious and for once we get to know some of his secrets. Being a mixed blood has caused his powers to run out of control and Micah is about to find out just how powerful he truly is.

There is BDSM and voyeurism, humiliation, and revelation. No chases or major action but lots of heart.
