About Michael Marnier
I write action adventure thrillers, injecting my more memorable life experiences into the main character, Charley Manner. Once, while SCUBA diving in darkened waters, something very big bumped me. The creature was not clearly visible in the murk sixty feet below the surface but my imagination filled in the blanks. In TOTS, I start with Charley out on the Florida Straits sitting in his brand new $18,000 fish-fighting chair with a bottle of Gran Patron Platinum tequila and a Great White tugging on his line. He ends up in the water with the beast but you'll have to read the book for the rest. And Deep Strait brings more dangers, natural and manmade, in the depths halfway between the Florida Keys and Cuba.
Charley is six feet four inches tall, 220 pounds of lean power, encased in a charbroiled tan and topped with salt-crusted hair lightened by Florida's scorching sulphur sun. He is a swash-buckling, ass-kicking former Navy SEAL with a take-no-prisoners attitude. Hooyah! Charley loves to tell tall tales to his bar mates just like me except I'm only six feet tall and not so tan. My shark encounters, not so much.
But enough about me. Start reading about Charley in Book #1: Trouble on the Straits. You can read the prequel, Hellhole in Khyber, to learn about Charley's last special op in Afghanistan and how he ended up in the Florida Keys. It successfully launched with a large following of readers who scooped up Book #2, Deep Strait, when it published this April. I hope you enjoy reading Charley's adventures as much as I do writing about them.

The events in the story take place two years before Trouble on the Straits, Book #1 in the Charley Manner Action Adventure series, and are based on fictional special operations missions in Afghanistan prior to U.S. troop withdrawal in 2014.
The prequel ends with Charley's return to civilian life and retirement in the Florida Keys. Ready for a fishing bum's life after what he went through in Afghanistan, Charley simplifies.

Charley Manner’s sister, Katie, is abducted by an old enemy seeking revenge against Charley and friends for interfering with the terrorist’s plans to release radioactive waste in the Deep Strait forty miles south of Key West.
(see Book #2 of the Charley Manner series and the prequel, Hellhole in Khyber, for the full background).
Charley's warrior dog, Spirit, is on the case. She finds trouble on Big Pine Key, fifteen miles from home-base at Marathon Marina. She tracked Katie’s scent to an abandoned warehouse in the southern tip of the Key.
The action and danger is intense, but nothing a seasoned Belgian-Malinois Navy SEAL warrior dog can't handle.
Canine Courage is a non-stop thriller with many scenes narrated from the dog’s point of view. Find out what Spirit must overcome to save Katie and how she courageously protects everyone she loves. Written in Michael Marnier’s unputdownable style, the scenes fly by grabbing your interest until you have finished.

A UK reader posted the following review on Amazon UK. Since those reviews do not show on Amazon.com, I have pasted it here to help potential future readers decide to buy.
CANINE COURAGE is action-packed from the opening page - something we have come to expect from Marnier's Charley Manner series of adventure stories. In this latest addition, Charley's nemesis, the mad Mullah, returns to threaten not ony Charley's immediate family but also the security of the nation as he carries out his jihad.
Charley's only back-up is Spirit, a retired Military Working Dog and his constant companion. Spirit's indomitable courage and resilience are more than a match for any terrorist - especially one as incompetent as Mullah. But along the way there are a hurricane, a Burmese python and two dirty bombs to contend with as well, which makes this such a gripping read.
The sun-kissed Florida Straits act as a contrasting but effective backdrop to a tale of dark doings. CANINE COURAGE might come across as a flight of fancy, but it remains in touch with current world events and serves as a timely reminder of the sacrifices made by the military services in maintaining peace both on home soil and overseas.
