When Lilith later dies from an apparent overdose, Jada, along with her brother and his new girlfriend, sets off for Italy to find the lost art of Lazzaro Allegri that's been missing for four centuries somewhere in the Park of Monsters. Was Lilith's death a suicide or was it murder and why is someone trying to scare Jaya away from the Park of Monsters?
This is an engaging, well written addition to Gigi Panadan's Jaya Jones Treasure Hunting series that I would recommend to all who like mysteries, especially those dealing with missing art.
**Please note: I was given a copy of this book by the publisher through Netgalley.com in exchange for an honest review.
I love the way that Gigi manages to make me feel like I'm part of the investigation, trying to figure out "who-dun-it" before Jaya does, but I was really, truly fooled in this one, by so many things. I can't imagine how the author can dream up such great stories, but I'm certainly grateful that she does. I can't put down her books, and my only complaint now is that I've caught up with all the series, Jaya's and the Accidental Alchemist, so now I have to wait anxiously until the next book comes out.
If you appreciate great mysteries in exotic locales I think you'll Gigi's books too. Just make sure you have a day free to finish it, because you won't be able to put it down.
