I am so happy I found this book. The theory makes total sense and the process is easier than I imagined. I cannot believe the difference. I am on day 16 of phase 1 and the early results are amazing. I do recommend buying all the foods on the list and all the supplements he recommends. I have not been hungry and I think that is a result of the probiotics and the huge amount of vegies and fruit you can consume on this plan. He provides all the info you need including meal plans and grocery lists. I had to do this with less meat because I am only consume meat once a week. Still is was mostly not tempted after the first 5 days. He tells you exactly what to do and why. Severe skin issues gone, down 3 belt notches, bloating gone, edema in extremities and face gone, people actually compliment my skin which is nothing short of a miracle. Thank you sir! You have worked a miracle in my life.

    This book is not about a crash diet, nor is intended for a major weight loss. What it is made for, is to show you how to eat better and take care of your body and watching what you put in it. Our diets have consisted of instant or fast food due to the way we live our lives in the 21st century. It is amazing how much processed garbage the average person eats. My family was one of the many who live like this today. We actually purchased this book because my wife had this weird skin itching problem and modern medicine could not cure. We went to a holistic doctor and he said your body is not getting the nutrients it needs from your diet; he said follow this book and it will help. So we were desperate and did what he said. Three weeks into it and the itching is almost completely gone, it is no where as debilitating as it was.
    After this three weeks all of us have eaten one meal like we use to, which wasn't fast food, just eating out and it is amazing how greasy, heavy and how bad you feel after eating your old diet. None of us will go back to the way we use to eat. For me feeling better and having more energy was what I was hoping for.
    The recipes are good unlike other diets like the SB one. I think these recipes are better because it is not a weight loss diet, where the diet is trying to show you results with in a few days. These recipes are for training you to eat better and it will change your life, it is not an instant fad diet. This is a life changing diet. Try it and see, but you have to give it an honest 3 week chance and then if you don't like it, don't do it.
    All of us have more energy, feel better and of course we are all losing weight.

    I ordered this book because I heard that the our microbiome can affect our digestion and our mental state. I struggle with gastrointestinal issues and depression/anxiety (I do not take medication for it) and was hoping that if I applied these principles to change my microbiome that it would improve my digestion and mood. I have been gluten free for six years and that has helped me a tremendous amount, but I still have some issues and struggles with dealing with stress. By the way, weight loss is not my goal(my BMI is 21.3) although Dr. Kellman emphasizes mostly weight loss in his anecdotes. I would have preferred more anecdotes focused on improved mental health.

    I have not found Phase 1 particularly hard, but then again, I was already used to eating gluten free. I tried several recipes and they were good, but fairly time consuming. For instance I made the spaghetti squash with meatballs and had to cook the squash, make the meatballs separately and also make homemade pesto just for one recipe. My daughter and I liked the recipe, but I don't have time (or the inclination) to cook like that every day! The stews were good and I discovered that I liked parsnips (kind of reminds me of potatoes when cooked). Never could find the Jerusalem artichoke or kimchi anywhere I shop, but I did find jicama and snacked on it. I made the kale, cauliflower and chickpea snacks and liked them. Definitely read labels when you shop, because I bought a jar of almond butter and sunflower seed butter that had added sugar without noticing it until later :(
    I'm only in my second week of following the diet, but I have noticed that my digestion is improving...less intestinal discomfort and bloating and more regular. I also notice that when my digestion is better, my mood is better. There is no doubt in my mind that they are interconnected (afterall most of our serotonin is manufactured in the gut). So even though I am not motivated to continue by weight loss, I am motivated to continue by the way I feel. Perhaps I have food sensitivities to egg, dairy, soy or corn or a leaky gut.

    I have not purchased the supplements that Dr. Kellman suggested, but I have added apple cider vinegar before meals and I've been eating some sauerkraut, too. I do take a probiotic every day, too.

    Maybe I'll update after I have been on the diet a longer period of time.

    I really like the book and am fascinated with the concept. I've started the process and have had early, positive results. I highly recommend looking into this.

    However.

    All diet cookbook authors please, please take note: the Piggly Wiggly rarely has alvacados. We have Quaker Oats. We have Mandarin oranages in the little plastic cups. We may have fresh asparagus in season. My point is this: stop with fru-fru recipes and put some simple "pour bag in bowl add water and microwave" recipes. I imagine most of us are working stiffs that had to Google what a complete was and we really don't have time to throw that together. Give us dinner recipes that we can make one night and have leftovers for two !unches. That's the kind of thing that would really help.

    Autant le programme paraît alléchant et bien pensé, autant sun point de vue pratique, il faut trouver les ingrédients et suppléments au magasin ou en ligne. On se retrouve à dépenser énormément pour des produits pas toujours dispos ou hors saison pour certains ingrédients. Les suppléments sont assez chers. Bref, ce régime n'est pas pensé pour un accès aux petits budgets. Si vous êtes végétariens oubliez. Si vous voulez manger local et ou de saison, oubliez. Des menus qui combinent parfois légumes d'hiver avec fruits d'été sur une même journée pas très pratique. C'est dommage, j'ai du fouiller et trouver des alternatives de manière intuitive car elles ne sont pas proposées dans le livre. Un peu déçue.

    Seit 3 Wochen befinde ich mich in der Diät, weil ich extreme Probleme mit meiner Milchallergie habe. Ich hätte es nie für möglich gehalten, wieviel Energie man bekommt und dass man ohne Probleme auf all die Dinge verzichten kann, die einem anerzogen wurde. Diese Diät soll eine Vorbereitung für die Anwendung von Darmbakterien bei mir sein, um die Reaktion der Milchallergie zu reduzieren. Die Diät kann ich auch jedem empfehlen, der hartnäckigen Bauchspeck verlieren möchte.
