It would make for a perfect desktop/podcast/late night talk show/etc type mic. See this video.
I'll update if it has any issues. I received a sample for review.
> I don't know if the software used makes any difference but I use Adobe Audition for all my recordings. The sound is above average definitely compared to most of other $100+ microphones out there. No noticeable glitches while using it. Very usable for recording vocals, which is what I use it. Frequency range seems pretty decent but I haven't tested it through a full range of applications.
> Nice and solid. Almost too light considering the agility. I keep it in the box it came with and so far it has kept it intact.
Ease of Use:
> Big plus here, Plug it in via USB, and you're ready to go. No special driver install or software required to get it working.
> Comes with a very usable desk mic stand
> Comes with all the necessary cables to use right away
I expected the sound quality would be usable and it is, but I admit the all-in-one extras and the acceptable price were what ultimately snagged me and prompted me to order.
> If you're only doing podcasting or just recording vocals, you might consider a lower priced USB mic without the extras. BUT, if you're doing music and more with the it, this might be the way to go since it's nice and worth the price.

I would recommend this Mic to anyone needing a quality USB mic!
I've used it with Skype, Steam, and Discord with few problems. There have been a number of times when people complained that I was coming in too quiet, but I'm soft-spoken so I'm not sure if it was the mic or just me. There was also one time when Discord refused to detect the mic, but then I unplugged and plugged it back in, restarted the app, and it was fine again.
It's a decently sized mic and stand as well. From the end of the puff guard to the start of the cable is approx. 6in. as is the spread between each tine of the tripod. It stands about 7.5in. tall with the stand angled 70-80 degrees.
The range is a little peculiar, but it was a minor adjustment to deal with so I won't take a star off for it. However, when I'm talking, it won't be detect my voice if I'm more than 2-3ft away, but it can still pick up my washer more than 20ft away in another room, so it seems to be able to register lower frequency sounds more easily than mid- to high-range.
I've had this mic for a few months now and I have no desire to go back to a headset again. If you're debating on making the switch, I recommend making this the one you try out.
This mike was very simple to set up. The instructions are very clear. Make sure you read all of them. I stopped at page 5 and did not realize that I had to adjust the output device setting in Audacity. I eventually figured it out on my own, but if you do not make that setting change, Audacity will not use the new mike. So be sure to read page 6 of the instructions. Also, the customer service from Fifine cannot be beat. No, I did not receive this for free in return for a review. I just honestly love the product.
Works perfectly with Audacity.
