Flexible top: The made in USA zesting blade is surrounded with BPA-free silicone that flexes with pressure, allowing the zester to easily glide over the rinds of citrus fruit. This kitchen grater maximizes the amount of lemon zest you get in one stroke!
Ergonomic profile: the small, round shape fits naturally into the palm of your hand, making it easy to control. Measuring a mere 2. 5" X 2" X 1. 5", it easily fits into a child's hand as well.
Tidy zest: fresh zest falls from the blade to a collecting dish (measuring about 1 teaspoon) that's underneath the silicone top.
Sharp teeth: the Flex zesti uses the same technology as the Microplane Rasp zester. Expect the same made in USA blade, with just the right tooth height to pick up only the Zest, and not the bitter white pith.
Patented: don't fall for imitations, this kitchen gadget is patented! (# D785, 415). the zester can be placed in the dishwasher for cleaning. If it is submerged, water may enter the lower chamber, so we recommend hand washing without soaking. There are weep holes in the base to allow water to release; place those holes down for complete drying.

I've been waiting to find a zester with a compartment that catches the zest and I was so happy to find this product. It worked perfectly for two months until the metal zester tore through the silicone holding it in place. I bought a second one at bed, bath and beyond and it has done rhe same thing. Unfortunately the force of Zesting is too much for the rubberized silicone holding it together. I would hope they'd rectify this in the future by using metal on metal

This is easy to use, and small so it stores well in a tiny kitchen. I love this tool I use it not only to zest, but also to mince garlic. It works with very little effort, and the end result is a neat little pile that you can toss into your dish. Cleaning is a breeze with either hand wash or toss in the dishwasher. The rounded design means food doesn't get stuck anywhere.

We all want that perfect zester...small, sleek, long-lasting. It is small and sleek. Once you figure out how the blade detaches from the silicone mount, it is relatively easy to clean. I wrecked my first one when I ripped the silicone mount while taking the blade out. Then I learned the technique but alas, the unit I had was kaput. Yet, I liked it enough to buy another one. This time, I’m quite careful to mount/dismount the blade very gently. Be advised.

My old box grater takes a lot of push and makes bigger pieces which have more zingy taste and color. I will use this one for recipes in which the zest gets mixed into salad dressing or cakes.

Handy kitchen gadget for zesting citrus

This little zester is great. It takes off only the outer layer of citrus, and none of the bitter white membrane. I used to think using my box grater was fine but this gadget is so much faster, safer, easier and better. It rinses off easily under the faucet too. The only thing I would love to see added is a cover to keep the blades covered when it’s in my drawer.

Finely grates ginger and doesn’t make a mushy mess if the ginger is fresh (vs frozen). Nice and compact, easy to travel with and use. Took with me on a trip for work so I could make fresh lemon ginger tea and I was very happy with it. Probably will end up buying one for the whole family!

These are amazing little gadgets. So easy to use and the zest is contained in a little reservoir under the grater. Mine broke after 5 - 10 uses. The rubber part holding the metal grate in place is very weak and broke in several places. I still use the metal part, holding it with my fingers, but it digs in and isn't comfortable. It's a shame as it worked amazingly initially.
