Given my son’s reaction, I gave this to his younger cousin who liked it much better. The concept of being able to see threads or saliva magnified provided many hours of amusement. He was initially confused as he kept trying to put things that do not fit in slides, but once he got the hang of it, he really liked this toy. Therefore I am reviewing this from the perspective of a younger child.
For a child with lower expectations, this is a good starter kit. It has all of the components for them to understand how microscopes work, and if they have older siblings or cousins, they can be just like them without the complications that come with using a real heavy, metal microscope.
