This is more than just a microscope. Its a video camera as well. I do a lot of circuit board soldering, and my eyes aren't what they used to be. I can set this up on a workpiece, magnify the image as needed, and see the detail of what I'm doing through the wireless connection to my Android phone or tablet. The image seems to have some false coloring, but its more than detailed enough for the purpose. The video shows me soldering using the microscope to enlarge the work area. It's a godsend for weakening eyes.

This is much better than I had hoped for. The stand, however, leaves much to be desired. As you can see by the photo, the stand does not go further back to see the whole coin. The software app that you can download for free lets you choose 1080p max resolution, take photos and videos. I will devise a work-around for the stand.

I'm updating my review now that I've had some time to try out this microscope. I was just looking for interesting things to magnify and photograph. It has been fun to be able to take pictures of all the things I could find to look at. Money, fabrics and plant material have been the best. The microscope has been pretty user friendly and seems to be well made. I like that it is rechargable. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that I haven't figured out how to keep it shaking a little when I press the shutter button, if it isn't resting square on the object being photographed. Maybe there is a way to take the picture with the app and I haven't found it yet. I'll continue to play with it.

Pros - compact, good quality photo and video, Wi-Fi connectivity
Cons - Flimsy stand (could have been better). I would have preferred a ball and socket type of mount. The screw that hold everything together, when you unscrew it for adjustment, it basically collapses the entire stand.
Who should buy - Parents, students, amateur biologists, inquisitive folks (like me), electronics' repair folks
Who should not buy - Serious biologists (do not expect to see the cell structure at this price point)

Sadly the store where i bought the makeup offered no refund or exchange .. I decided to buy this microscope and check all my makeup.. It was the best investment I made. Now after getting rid of at least a thousand dollars worth of makeup, I realized most makeup cannot last more than six months, especially the creamy ones. Powder products last longer but the cream products you need to be very careful as to what you apply on your lips when using a lipstick. The app was a bit hard to understand the instructions, but at the end i managed to make it work and now I carry this portable microscope with me in my bag. Don't hesitate to buy it !
