I got them today and was pleasantly surprised. The ones that I received are exactly as depicted in the photo. They have smooth edges, and are the correct size to fit into the SIM slot on all three phones that I tested. One of the phones had a traditional metal SIM slot that you open by sliding the mechanism to the side and lifting up. Another phone had a slide mechanism with a metal holder. Another had a slide mechanism that was plastic. The adaptor fit into each of these phones easily and without any risk of damage.
The kit includes two stickers, whose function is to use as a guide to cut-down a full-size SIM. The stickers are not intended to hold the MicroSIM into the adapter, and would probably make it too large.
Admittedly, I have NOT actually put a MicroSIM into the adapter to test it, but that's the next step. If it doesn't work, I'll update this review accordingly.
I used the adapter to use a sim from an iPhone 3GS on an iPhone 4 and although everything was working fine after a while I went to my local carrier and they provided the appropriate sim card for my phone at no charge.
There was also a sheet with two stickers, one appeared to be used to hold the card in the adapter but the adhesive stuck to the backing paper. The other appears to be a template you could apply to your mini-sim in order to cut it down to micro-sim size.
However since the three items, plus a small metal device I assume is for ejecting sim cards from iPhones (but would also work great on CD/DVD emergency eject buttons), came sealed in a small poly bag with a set of instructions written in German I'll just be left guessing their true purposes. But the one thing I am sure of, the micro to mini sim adapter was great and had my tween daughter back on the phone within seconds of receiving the package.
I knew per the title and description of the product it was for ipad/iphone. Tried to give it a shot on an android but it did not fly on the sim port that is behind battery. It may work w/ slide in but I'd be hesitant to try it if it is not iphone.
Wanted to post this review but felt unfair to give 3 or lower star. I do have an iphone 3G hanging around but I am not confident in it to give it a go...hope other review here will help you for iphone. I am just noting this for android phone users.
Product works great of course, plastic frame, not much to review about it. It works with any time you need a micro SIM to fit into any regular SIM card slot; any phone at all.
Glad I saw this on Amazon. Although some of the negative reviews were concerning, I was like, what the hell, it's less than $2. This is very basic - you just slot the card in. I used a small piece of scotch tape to secure the other side of the SIM card to the frame.
Got 2 stickers along with this (as shown in the photos). Have no clue what that's for.
Luckily, you can put a micro sim in a standard sim blackberry because of the way the sim slides under the bracket, so it was really not needed after all.
