I have a projector and have been waiting for this ever since I got the Day One Xbox One. I would just like to confirm that the Kinect Adapter for Windows combined with a Tripp Lite USB 3.0 SuperSpeed Active Repeater Cable (AB M/M) 25-ft works. You just plug the Kinect into the powered Kinect Adapter for Windows, connect the repeater cable to that and then that cable to any regular USB port on the console. Very simple and it works great. I've just started using some Kinect games and it is really fun. There are some free demos you can download at the link below and some Kinect games are disk only.

Does what it says - use the Kinect for XBox One (aka Kinect v2) on Windows. I'm using several kinects for motion capture. Be sure your system meets the requirements for Kinect v2 - in particular, you need a USB 3.0 controller that is dedicated to the kinect. So read up on your motherboard, etc and make sure you have an entire USB 3.0 controller dedicated for the kinect. I have a Rampage V Extreme and it works fine on both usb controllers.

If you buy separate Kinect sensor, you'll find only one cable in the box, and this cable is not USB. They think you buy Kinect for Xbox One, so the cable is Xbox connector. If you want to do something with Kinect on PC (to develop programs, or to work with such 3D packages as Poser or Lightwave), you need this adapter as a power supply for Kinect and to connect Kinect to computer via USB. That's all.

You also need to know - there is only one typo of electrical plug in the box. Depending on your country you may need additional adapter. It's a small piece of plastic and metal, in my country the price is less than $1.

As you can see on the photo Kinect adapter consists of two boxes. It should to be more compact with less cables. However.

I've been using this and the TrippLite USB 3.0 A to B extension to extend my Xbox One kinect. Works pretty well for it not being an official solution. Kinect disconnects periodically, but not enough to be a real nuisance. As for actual developer purpose? No idea. Also, fyi, the kinect will not function as an IR blaster when using this adapter. You'll need a separate IR transmitter.

A little expensive but worth it to connect a Kinect for Xbox One to my computer to enable Windows Hello facial recognition on my desktop. You do have to perform a hack to get it to work, but it works great when set up correctly. Instructions can be found on the internet.

Arrived fast and worked as needed. BUT.... Remember!!! Check the specs for the USB Port requirements from microsoft sdk site. https://dev.windows.com/en-us/kinect/hardware-setup. Had to buy this USP port and it worked SIIG 2-Port Dual Profile PCIe Adapter with SuperSpeed USB 3.0 (JU-P20612-S1) also had to get this because my video card covered the only available port in my PC PCI Express x1 Lane Version 2 (5Gb/s) Extender/Riser Card... Once I cut away part of my video card casing :-( not nice process... everything worked perfect.

Does exactly what it is supposed to do. Use this device to hook an Xbox One version of the kinect v2 sensor to a computer using a usb 3.0 port. Using an earlier usb port will not work very well,in particular, you need a USB 3.0 controller that is dedicated to the kinectThe purpose of this is to use the kinect sensor as a 3D scanner.
