I received my camera two days earlier than stated and I appreciate that because I was able to use it for my zoom meeting. I was sceptical at first to buy this camera because of some negative reviews concerning Windows 10 compatibility. However, I decided to purchase with a leap of faith. I am pleased for now with its work. However, I took out one star because of the grip on the camera. It does not stay in place that well. Any movement to the work table puts it out of place and I have to put it back in place.

It was very easy to connect to my Hp laptop - plugged the USB to the PC and select the Microsoft camera in my zoom video settings, and voila a blue light comes on to indicate it's working. When not in use, I just unplug and put away. It actually works well with Windows 10. Hopefully it continues to serve its purpose for years to come.

I got this on sale for $35.99, and for that price it's not hard to please me, but this camera is well worth more.

The Microsoft LifeCam Cinema 720p HD Webcam is small and lightweight, but not chinsy--comparable to the dimensions of a 'C' battery. I thought this would be an issue against the weight of the long USB cable, but the rubber bending clamp is heavy enough that things balance out. Speaking of, you can use the clamp to mount your webcam to any monitor (Oldschool CRT, flat screen, laptop)or fold the clamp into a stand and mount it on your desk.

Image quality is reasonable. Definitely 720p through LifeCam Studio, but it looks like the quality can vary depending on what software you use the camera with. The LifeCam Cinema 720p has a vast array of widescreen and standard resolutions to choose from, and tilt, pan, zoom, color, white balance, and focus controls built into it's LifeCam Studio software, and that's one recommendation I have is that you download the LifeCam Studio software and most current driver from the Microsoft website to avoid any hangups. Otherwise, I'm impressed with how this camera integrates into other software. FFSplit and Skype have no problems recognizing it, and I'm even able to use the LifeCam software controls within them.

The mic quality is solid: Loud, clear, and responsive. It's still a desktop mic so it clips easily and doesn't handle much range, but all in all a great mic for casual and business conversations. I actually feel dumb for buying a microphone headset now...

Of course this is a Microsoft camera, so big surprise that the "call" button on the back of the camera auto-launches MSN Messenger, which I hate. A brief search doesn't show any ways to customize it to another program like Skype.

Lastly, this thing gets hot when it's on. Scary hot. "Is it about to catch on fire?" hot. It hasn't yet. But I don't know why it needs to channel so much power.

All in all, for the price range, I can dig it.

I got this web cam after my other LifeCam Cinima started acting funny... After two years with that web cam, it began to randomly shut off during video calls but work fine if only using the mic while playing a game online. I really liked the design and functionality of that one and sense I got that other one second hand, I decided to buy the same thing and try to take better care of it from the get go.

My suspicion was because of the nature of its previous owner(s) the wire in the back had been tugged and loosened weakening some important bits inside. I also noticed the device getting quite hot during calls so I think some of the parts that were broken had to do with the power. It was probably not regulating power anymore and would shut itself down or overload.

I've only had this new one for a week or so but everything seems fine and I definitely notice it running at a cooler temperature so I feel like if I don't put strain on that wire, I should have a perfectly good cam for quite some time.

Pros:
- Great webcam in its price range
- Great video quality for 720 p and 30 fps (in optimal light conditions)
- Great design
- Great functionality
- Clear sound quality
- Works well in relatively low light (computer screen light)
- Nice rubber bendy stand so as to not scratch my screen and never fall
- Doesn't require any manual software instillation on Windows 7 (Automatically detects and quickly installs basic drivers)

Cons:
- Faulty relative
- Wire in the back needs tender loving care
- Image becomes laggy and blocky in very low light

Overall:
You won't be shooting movies with this but its a great webcam for video chat and voice broadcasting. Could be the best in its price range.

A Webcam da Microsoft saiu bem caro, comparado com a Logitech que considerei comprar, mas pelo fato de vir com microfone integrado que é muito bom por sinal, melhor do que o microfone que vem no meu headset da Fortrek, além da capacidade de girar em 360° faz dela um produto que vale bastante o preço que paguei, em torno de 260 reais. Como podem ver no video ela entrega uma qualidade bem considerável e na foto percebam que é bastante compacta, não imaginei que fosse tão pequena antes de comprá-la, a contrução dela é excelente, como esperado da Microsoft.

Its runs as a device and functions for zoom but it's constantly refocusing and because there's no software you can't turn the re-focus feature off. There's no way to interface with the camera settings beyond what your platform (Zoom for example) offers if you're on windows 10.
