I was looking to go wireless on my XBOX360 so I could put it in the living room area where my projection tv was. As soon as I hooked the device to my system, it saw it automatically, but had to input my wireless g username and password to see the network. EXCELLENT product and from the reviews, got a better rating than the newer one that sold for $100

You can, too!!! This product is totally not needed if you have a laptop (which is why most people have wireless in the firstplace). From my Mac, all I did was go into system preferences > sharing > internet > and click "start" to share the internet access. Then I used ethernet cable (cat-5) and connected my laptop to the back of my xbox. Im sure you can do the same if you're running windows. Im sure this product is great, and it works right out of the box, but why spend the money if you don't have to? Hope this helps save some of you some cash.

I bought this hoping to use it as a general wireless access point, hooking it to ethernet to add wifi to my living room cheaper than getting a standard WAP. While I was unable to do so with it, it still worked perfectly on the original xbox for it's intended purpose. It even worked to provide wifi to the xbox in it's soft-moded XBMC state, allowing me to access my movies and mp3s over wifi. My only complaint is that it seems to get hotter than a device of it's size should.

I purchased the Microsoft Wireless-G Xbox Adapter as a Christmas gift to myself about a month ago thinking I had gotten a great deal. Due to the fact this was a gift I did not open it until Christmas. This was my first mistake. When I opened the box, the adapter had a broken antenna, was covered in dust, and was also missing the power supply cable. I was beyond disappointed. I immediately contacted the seller expressing my issues with the product and requested a replacement. Once they finally replied, I could not believe their poor customer service! The first email i received was nothing more than, "sorry we can not accept the return after a month of purchase date." I had not replied yet when I noticed I had another email from them saying, "magicalsales has closed the return request listed below. Reason for the closure of your request: Expiration of returns period. Seller comments: its to late to return it. sorry" As you can see the seller is rude and inconsiderate. I recommend that no ones purchases from this seller. The product is a complete waist of money. I am beyond furious and will result to drastic measures if this situation is not taken care of.

I've had this for a few years now and it's still running strong. My router is downstairs and this is on the second floor with no problem detecting the signal.

I was reading this article to see if this device would be a good idea for my xbox. But the person before me asked a question which I would like to try to answer. Just to say I have the same router which works great. Now about the product. You can plug the xbox direct into this router with a ethernet cable if its close by. But if you want to put it somewhere else in your home you would buy this product. According to what I heard and my experience with other wireless products you just plug this device into your xbox find your network on the xbox controls (Also the xbox is suppoest to set itself up with this device) set your settings and play. Thats about it. It also doesnt matter that the makers are different the products should be compatiable because they both use the b and g standard as does your router. But before buying look at the things it says and compare to your router to be 100% sure you wont have problems getting the devices to communicate. Anyway hope this helps. Also before you buy this product you should shop around more on this website for similar products because you might find the same thing by a different maker for less. Anyway good luck.

I bought this for my brother's Xbox 360 for Christmas and was pretty pleased with it. The initial configuration was a little tough and it can't use WPA encryption. By the end of the setup, though, I had it working with a standard Xbox, an Xbox 360, and his older desktop computer. I believe it will work with practically any device with an ethernet port once configured. A good value.
