I've had this Surface Pro for nearly a year now, and I love it. Initially, I was concerned when I read the negative reviews about functionality issues, but I haven't had any notable issues with it at all. The battery life is great, and it does not lag when opening applications. As a university student, I walk around campus a lot, so I wanted a light laptop that wasn't too heavy since I already have several textbooks and notebooks to lug around. This laptop/tablet hybrid was perfect for this, and it functions well. You can even play PC games on it (on the lowest graphics setting and if you can stand playing with very low FPS).
What I mainly love about this Surface Pro is how I can use OneNote to take notes. As a science major, my classes are lecture-heavy with lots of PowerPoints. With the Surface, I can import the slides into OneNote and use the stylus to take notes. Since the type cover is removable, the tablet can lay flat on the desk while I take notes as if it was a notebook. I hate typing notes, so I love being able to write out my notes by hand without having to print the slides off. This method also allows me to upload the notes to OneDrive so that I essentially can view my notes anywhere as long as I have my phone. This is great when I have a quiz or exam coming up, and I have some time to study while I'm out and about without worrying about carrying around a notebook!
Overall, I would highly recommend the Surface Pro. I bought the i5, 8 GB RAM version. If you are considering buying this product, I would say go for it!
