When I first ordered this gift card, I was concerned if it would truly be worth $25. Yes, I paid $25 for it, but can you trust what you read on packages these days? You buy a 500 GB hard drive and only get 465 GB. You buy a package of Chips-Ahoy and get less than 1000 chocolate chips. You buy a 12-pack of beer and only get 11 cans. Can we expect more from Microsoft?
Indeed you can. It all started when I clicked "purchase". Immediately, a message on my phone popped up saying "Gmail: Amazon - Thank you for your purchase." And that's when I realized this gift card was different. It was like a love letter from my gift card. I read the email backwards and forwards, taking in every implication and nuance. The rise and fall of each phrase put a smile on my face every time. But would this gift card let me down like so many have before?
A few days later, I was arriving home after work and on my way to my room. That's when I saw it. My heart skipped a beat. It was just a cardboard box, but this one was different. Or was it? I reached for the scissors and delicately pierced the tape, carefully and quickly slicing from one end to the other. As I opened the flaps, I saw a bit of purple tantalizing me behind a layer of bubble wrap. I reached in and took the card in hand, its bold $25 claim broadcasting itself to the waiting world. Now was the true test.
$25.00 to the penny! No lie, this is the real thing. In a world of cutting corners, Microsoft has made a stand for honesty and integrity. I was both elated and relieved at the same time. I could spend it on anything. It was like cash, but better, because I didn't have to pay my bills with it. What would I purchase? Only time would tell. The world was mine. Gift cards would never be the same.
Who am I kidding? This is a $25 gift card. Does this thing even need a review?
