Incredible model! Expert-level, not for first-timers.
What an amazing and enjoyable experience this was! First and foremost, let me say that *THIS IS NOT A BEGINNER-FRIENDLY MODEL*. If you have never built a metal model, this is not the place to start. This is my first Microworld model but I'm no stranger to metal models, as I've built nearly 20 of the Metal Earth series in varying levels of difficulty. This is by far the most difficult one I've ever built, and not just because it's so many pieces! I likely spent between 25-30 hours on this one, whereas even my most difficult model before was still probably 8-10 hours. The instructions aren't quite as easy to follow as Metal Earth, but if you're familiar with their models, you should be able to follow along with these too - just be sure you always pay attention to whether it shows the engraved side out (dark circle symbol) or the engravings inside (light circle symbol) when folding pieces. You will use every single piece - unlike Metal Earth where the sometimes include duplicates of pieces that are more fragile / complicated shape - so be very careful. Keep in mind the old shop mantra of "measure twice, cut once" and double-check anything you're confused on before you commit to locking a piece into place.I say none of this to discourage anyone from purchasing - it's truly a great kit and the quality of the pieces doesn't feel cheap or anything like that. I will end with some final recommendations that should make the building process a bit smoother:- get a few different pairs of tweezers - I typically use slanted (primary), straight (back-up), and pointed (hard-to-reach areas)- get some pliers with smooth nose/jaws - you don't want to crimp your pieces using burred/teethed pliers!- only cut out a few pieces at a time - they're too easy to lose and the individual pieces aren't labeled. the only labels are on the sheet before you cut them out. I never cut out more pieces than whatever will be used in the current step I'm working on.- relax and have fun! these are great fun while listening to podcasts or audiobooks or anything like that (shout out to the stormlight archive).

This was my first ever Metal model, I probably shouldn't have started with such a detailed piece, but after many hours of work and a little frustration along the way, it turned out amazing. Patience is the key to success, love the product!
Excellent model from microworld again. I believe the box lists this as a 9 I'm not sure, I put it more a 8 or 7. Went together fairly easily. Be careful about the bends and placement of the guns, the picture makes it difficult to determine what goes where as you can't really tell which is the angled end by the picture, wish they would copy the maple mu models and put a little arrow on the metal to help with some of these issues on their models. But overall a great model, probably the hardest part for me was the actual base rock that the model attaches to, had the same problem with the centaur model.
WARNING -This is NOT BEGINNER friendly. -BEFORE you jump into metal 3D, unless the gods have blessed you with A-tier tinkering skills, work on a few wood models AND THEN smaller metal kits -You will not finish this in one sitting unless, again, you have A-tier tinkering skills
PROs -This one took me a hot minute to finish compared to the other 3d models I have built (don't read it as a complaint, one of the reasons I like the complex ones is due to how long they take) -idea of a robot tiger with wings and canons is super cool -pieces are REALLY durable, the tabs can take a beating. There was only 1 piece that broke, thankfully it was an easy fix
CONS 1. ALL NOT SOME of the instructions should also be in English. I have worked on enough models to get the jist of what means what but for a model that's almost $100 I mean, would it be too much to ask to translate everything? 2. The comic was cool to LOOK at but again....had no idea what it said. itd be nice if there were a digital link or something so only English speakers could join in on the fun 3. There are quite a few steps that are NOT clear. At first I thought it was me not reading the instructions correctly, however, towards the end I was getting so frustrated I would not secure pieces until I was 100% positive they weren't backwards 4. Sometimes the directions would illustrate which way the colored piece was facing other times it was a gamble. I say gamble because there were some steps where the directions did not make sense based on orientation and holes. I do not like that more than half the time my guesses were correct and the illustration was wrong 5. Yes, yes I know there are 3d models out there that cost a few hundred but man, I have cheaper models that had fewer hole misalignments than this model. Sure, I expected a few but at a certain point it I was having less fun and just wanted to get it done 6. My last gripe has to do with the final steps putting the tiger together. Basically you are going to construct the front and back half of the tiger separately and then combine them. I must of gotten a bad kit because not only was it a pain to not be able to see how you are inserting the tabs, after a couple minutes i learn ONCE AGAIN THE HOLES ARE JUST SO SLIGHTLY MISALIGNED that I could only get ONE tab in a hole. 7. the 'paint' is not the best. there were some pieces where you look at it wrong and it would peel or chip off. Granted i like the rough look for my tiger, just a heads up to the perfectionists
Don't let the price tag keep you from buying this! This was the first model I've made from microworld. Having done dozens of metal models by other brands before, I have to say this is by far my favorite! The metal is thick and durable (anyone who has made these knows how frustrating it is to break a piece trying to fold it). The sheets clearly labeled, numbered and broken into sections (so minimal shuffling thru sheets to find pieces). The final build is large and colorful, great for display. My ONLY complaint is there are no extra pieces (but bc I want accidently breaking any this didn't really bother me).
