I haven't bought the cushion or liner that are made to go with this bed, however, preferring to use bedding I already have.
The two brands are comparable in quality, and I'm happy with this bed. More important, the cats are happy with it, too! It's the perfect size for one small-to-average cat (6-11 lbs/2.7-5kg). If you have a very large cat' you might want to go up a size.
There are drainage/ventilation holes in the bottom, which could pose a problem if you have an animal prone to soiling their bed. I have an old cat with failing kidneys who has occasionally peed in his bed, so to keep any accidents from dripping through to the floor I put a disposable housebreaking pad in the bottom, then add his bedding. But so far, he hasn't had a single incident in any of the plastic beds--he must really like them! I think part of the reason is the dip in front makes it easier to get in and out.
The price isn't bad at all, considering I'll never have to spend the same amount of money on another squishy, overstuffed fabric cat bed that goes from zero to disgusting in no time flat.
(By common bed beds, I mean the ones that are made of soft foam with a custom-sized/sewn fabric cover. These are billed as washable, and they are washable, but I've struggled to keep hair our of the seams, and when I do wash then in the washing machine, I can never get them back on the soft foam frame, so I try to vacuum or hand pick them to avoid the washing machine. Also, one of my pets tears these covers apart. So, enough about other beds that I don't like.)
I bought this without the custom fabric cover. I drape an old towel in it. My pets use it. I've washed the old towel several times. The brown is a great color for my living room (it sits under an dark-stained end table beside my sofa, partially hidden, which the cats like.)
Almost threw away the rubber foot pads because there was so much packing paper. Watch out for a small 3" square plastic bag with rubber feet pads, mine were stuck within the excessive amount of packing paper. Had to go back out to recycling bin to find them.
