I have a 40 lb puppy who does fine with this size. (Not the brightest bulb of my rescues. Training is slow.) I also put one down near the pet fountain because this current puppy tends to dribble as she finishes her drink and walks away. Since I also have a formerly-feral kitten and a cat that won't use the litter box when she's inside, I line a plastic tub with one of these pads to place in my bedroom . The kitten and cat use the tub, which saves the bedspread and the dog bed and is easy clean up with no litter scattered on the carpet.
The quilted texture of these pads somehow doesn't provoke the puppy's urge to shred like the other brands I've used. They hold the fluid and the top layer is pretty much dry. They are very absorbant, as expected. The plastic liner is a bit heavier than average and, somehow, the pink color of the plastic is pleasant, even though I'm a 'blue' person.
Only con - I wish I could set up a subscribe and save for this item.
For the money, I would have to revise down my old review of 4 stars. At $45 a box of 100 pads, the seller has turned a corner. I'd call this fairly arrogant pricing. At this rate, you'd be better off buying a 2- or 3-star brand, because you could double the pads and still spend less than you'd pay for these. Two so-so pads will be superior to one pretty good pad.
These were, for a while, about the best pee pads available. I've tried many others -- the Walmart brand, the actual Wee Wee Pad brand, and a few more. But these Midwest pads have evolved over time, and, as one reviewer noted, the size seems to be inconsistent. And more often than not, the box looks as if it's been opened and retaped. Creepy, even in a pet poop product. The pads themselves may now be made by a different company. The filling is spotty, where it used to be uniform in thickness.

Never any leakage through the pad to the floor. What more can I say about a pee-pad? Of yes, they are large enough that our dog never misses.Published 22 months ago by Mark G.
