Middle of Knight picks up exactly where End of Day ended at the scary, hairy edge of a giant cliff! The cliffhangers and the intense plot make me so thankful that I didn’t start this series until it was completely published!
Jackson and Jillian are living in a quirky planned community in Omaha, NE. The geriatric neighbors got used to the nerdy piano teacher and his sexy sister who picks up the mail in her red boots and underwear. Middle of Knight gives us more of Jude/Jackson’s story. He’s sexy, smart and lethal. Several new and interesting characters are added. Mrs. Baker, the red-heard piano student, raises Jude’s hackles while Ryn, the blond housekeeper, steals Jackson’s heart.
Middle of Knight gives us more of Jude/Jackson’s story.
While Ms. Ann tickles us with humor and sweeps us off our feet with Jessica/Jillian’s flashbacks about Luke, the suspense thickens. Dark, foreboding clues are imbedded in the story. Don’t fall into the temptation of rushing your read—every details matters!
About Luke…if ever there was a perfect book boyfriend, it has to be him. I’m officially forsaking all other book boyfriends and saving myself for him. Romantic, devoted, handsome, fun, sexy… he is just perfect for Jessica Day.

I am not usually one who enjoys a "good" cry and you know from the first chapter that this book is going to be much more emotionally taxing than the first. Of course, AJ has to die because Jessica and the reader will always love Luke. Still I really felt sorry for AJ. His life was difficult and I feel like he never really had the love he truly deserved. He was lonely even with Jillian.
This book also introduces the relationship between Jackson and Ryn. Their relationship just never felt real to me. It seemed like Jackson was more in love with the idea of settling down with a wife and children than he was with Ryn. He thought she was attractive and seemed to fit his requirements for a wife so he was ready to go. I just never believed their love story and that was so disappointing after feeling Jessica and Luke's love all the way to my toes.
I am looking forward to reading the last installment but sort of dreading it at the same time because I know how gut-wrenching the whole Jillian/AJ thing is going to be for sweet Luke.
This book made me laugh one minute and cry the next. I was definitely more invested in Jill and AJ in this book but dang, the stuff happening with AJ gutted me. I loved getting more of Luke and Jessica’s story and I can’t wait for the conclusion to that.
Jackson and Ryn were interesting. I loved the stuff that came out Jackson’s mouth and Ryn was hysterical with her aversion to the words f**k, p***y, and c**k. Jackson frustrated me with his all in determination to win Ryn over and then he backs off. I understand he is messed up and has stuff to deal with, but Ryn is already struggling with self-esteem. It seemed unfair.
This series is really well done. I love the complicated characters and the mysterious storyline. I really need to know more about G.A.I. L. The humor is this series is top notch and mixed with the darker theme it works well.
Now anyone that knows me will tell you I don’t like trilogies so I can’t explain why I picked this up knowing book three isn’t due until February. I do break my own rules occasionally. LOL! I picked up book one just to peak and was immediately intrigued and the writing is well done. If you want something completely different you should give this series a try.
This series has stolen my heart! I'm completely and utterly obsessed. A brilliant story line, complex characters, humor, sex, suspense...this series truly has it all. It is a non-stop roller coaster ride. And I LOVE the older woman-younger man romance!! The way the author weaves flashbacks with present-day is nothing short of astounding.
If I could write, I would want to write like Jewel E. Ann. Jack & Jill have stolen my heart. I'm even in love with the covers. Absolutely one of my favorite series of the year.
