Upon arrival the box was slightly damaged but honestly, I don’t blame them for this as I have had several issues with boxes arriving damaged due to the carrier. Everything inside the box was well packaged and the unit itself arrived safely without defects.
Installation was really easy. I was able to get it up and running in less than 30 minutes. Midea includes additional foam insulation pieces so that way the unit can be moved to different locations. The wheels on the unit make this process even easier, pending that you’re not moving it up and down stairs.
Despite the unit being rated for up to 450 sq ft of cooling it surprisingly cooled my entire downstairs area which is close to 1,000 sq ft. It is an open floor plan so that has a lot to do with it. However, I literally watch the temperature on my thermostat go from 80 degrees to 75 in about 35-40 minutes which is really impressive for such a quiet unit.
Outside of being a wonderful portable AC, it has smarthome functionality, and can link to Google Home or Amazon Alexa. From there, you can create routines or control the unit by voice which is pretty neat. For my needs, I typically just use the remote since it has a nice solid build with a backlit LCD display that makes it easy for adjusting the temperature or switching modes.
If I had to pick 1 thing to gripe about it would be the stiffness of the air hose but I have a feeling it will loosen up over time and become easier to angle and adjust. Overall, I can’t recommend this unit enough. It does exactly what it says and exceeded my expectations. They also stand behind their products and offer a great warranty. If something does happen to go wrong within the covered period they will do everything they can to make it right and get you back up and running. I’ve had to take advantage of this before in the past and it was painless.

Excellent Portable AC

I’m a huge fan (no pun intended) of Midea products and this unit is no exception. Recently, my AC has been giving me a ton of issues and since I live in FL it’s not uncommon for the temperature to reach 80+ degrees inside of my home. Opening the windows doesn’t help since it just let’s in a ton of humidity since I live inland and not on the coast. This portable air conditioner works great. Easy wifi set up. Cools the entire living room and dining room. The auto fan and cooling function really works. Not noisy at all. The cooling is much better than other portable ACs I have had before. I recommend this product 100%.

The unit looks well made and sturdy. All the parts are of an ABS type plastic and seem very strong.
I operated the unit and everything worked well, specifically it blows LOTS of cold air straight up to horizontal , wide adjustability, and when it reaches desired temperature it ramps down to extremely quiet. Very different than typical portables. The remote is very well appointed with many convenient functions. You can hardly tell when the compressor starts, just like a typical mini split. You also notice that the compressor and motors are variable. I would give this unit 5 stars if the factory packaging was better. Impressed so far....I will update in 6 months.

Great Mini Split on Wheels

I am an HVAC Technician and bought this for my personal use. I received the this unit late but was within the window Amazon had then respecified. The packaging for this unit from the factory is not very good. The box had crushed in on the top and impacted the blower wheel on top of the unit. One side of the wheel had popped out of the nylon bushing. Fortunately I was able to push the wheel to one side and pop it back into the bushing.By Disco54 on June 10, 2021
