suspense romance with a love triangle. I liked this book it
was different from my normal read. The good news is there
was suggested sex but no extensive sex scenes so it is great
for a young adult to read. The evil creature in this book is
after Kat. And to think it all started with a blind date that went
totally wrong. You never know how bad a person can be till It
happens. In Kat’s case she has not one but three protectors.
She meets her first in her dreams. Berith was a wonderful
guy but even an angle can make mistakes. When he falls for
another angle and pushes Kat into Michaels’ waiting arms.
She falls just as hard if not harder for him. She is so
confused as she also cares about Kale as well. It will take
some time for her to sort out her feelings, but some things
keep happening to her. Which does not leave her much time
to figure out how she feels. But after getting attacked one
night she now sees through the killer’s eyes. She sees every
person he kills. And worst of all he is after her friends and
family as well just to touchier her. Will they be able to stop
this evil in time or will Kat loose all those she holds dear
Now before I ruin this for you I will leave off here. I hope you
enjoy this book as much as I did. If you do like this book,
please consider leaving a review. The Authors really like it
when you do; they value your opinions too.
I was given an advance copy of this book with the understanding I would leave an honest review.
OK, so this book was not what I've expected, like at all. To say that there are two heroes but with separate time lines would be I think quite accurate. This is a PNR that is filled with lots of murder, action, love, betrayal and second chances. I loved how Kat could see through the killers eyes and how that affected on the plot and characters. It's an amazing story but at the same time it's a bit strange, when you think about the romantic part of the story. It's hard to explain without giving away too many spoilers but what happens is basically that if take away all the PNR stuff, you actually get a very realistic romance story where not all is perfect and sometimes you have to make mistakes to finally get it right. Whether the mistake was on your part or on somebody elses doesn't matter, what matters is what you learn from it and what you can do with your now new situation. I think Kat found her way to a better future in all that chaos and she managed not to turn insane by doing it, and that's saying a lot once you've read the book. She's a wonderful mother, strong but breakable at the same time, a person with a big heart and a rational woman who knows what she wants and goes for it. I wished we would have seen more time with her and her son but since the book is already not a small one that wasn't such a huge loss.
As for the 'men' in her life, well...there are many and not all of them are her love insterest. That's about all I'm going to say on this topics because as already said spoilers and all that. What I will tho is that the ending was the most confusing and quick and at the same time beautiful thing I've read in a long time. I hope there is a second book, since I think there are some things and questions left unsaid and unanswered, so I really really hope we will get more from the story in the future.
The story begins with an attack on our heroine, Kat. Fortunately, a large black creature attacks the creature attacking Kat. While she survives, none of the future victims do. Worse yet, she now sees the future victims through the eyes of the killer.
Soon after her attack, Kat has the misfortune of being blind-date matched with a guy named Sam. The guy seemed nice enough until she tells him she has fallen in love with another guy. Then he turns ugly. In fact, the behavior of the guy was exactly like an angry guy I had to deal with once, so 100% on authenticity.
Of course this is fiction, so the good guys turn out to be rebel angels that have taken on the task of fighting demons. And the demons seem to truly enjoy eating people alive. I won’t tell you what happens to Kat, except to say falling in love with two guys gave the story an extra flare.
Ms. Wood is an excellent story teller. And despite the violence and constant deaths, I managed to enjoy this book immensely. It never got terribly explicit or gory. No, in my opinion, she had just the right amount of sexual interest, love, hate, and murderous deaths. None of which was described with excessive detail.
I received an ARC for my honest review.
