straightforward ability to tell a story and build a plot extremely refreshing. Sean Dillon and the characters created around him are very real and believable. Long may it continue!
This is one of the best of the Sean Dillon books so far.
It's called a thriller but could be classified as a mystery.
Once again Sean and company are after the mysterious Master of a well known terrorist group. This master seems to be a step ahead of his pursuers.
Once again,Higgins takes us from London to Timbuktu, back to London, with the always necessary stop in the north of Ireland. Then finally to Paris.
Great read and Higgins characters have grown but have not become predictable.
That said, The Midnight Bell seems to be charting a new course, with new characters, and perhaps a hint that some of the Dillon-saga stalwarts may be leaving the central narrative.
The Midnight Bell is a good yarn, filled with the usual complement to the great and the good, scoundrels, conflicted values, and death. Predictable, yes, but intriguing for what is (presumably) to come.
Here's to the next chapter, Mr. Higgins. Shall we say December 2017?
